Based in Maryland, the Harford County Health Department is responsible for the delivery of a range of preventive health care, clinical and environmental health services to citizens. The department operates through health education, services and promotion, addictions, administration, environmental health, disease control, care coordination, and women, infants and children divisions. It also operates a dental clinic that focuses on youths. The department provides treatment related to asthma, chicken pox, HIV, influenza, hepatitis and pregnancy, as well as sexually transmitted diseases. It has a staff of more than 200 employees. The Harford County Health Department is the local operating unit of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
