I cancelled my service with them after their prices continually went up and found out I had to pay for paper bills. Some people do not want their financial information over the internet; me being one of them. Then they started charging for the occasional bulk pickup when it used to be free. They charge for recycling also. I really hate that this company is buying out all of the smaller companies in our area.

Our driver is great, however, the older woman that answers the phone has to be the rudest most miserable person ever! I don't know how they let her deal with customers! She acknowledges you by being nasty and saying Mmmhmmmmmhmm, this time I did not even get a goodbye! I have talked to her a few times and it is always the same!They forgot to pick up and since we only get a once a week pick up, they said they would credit us. The credit was less than $2.00 even though we pay about a hundred or so every 3 months. Her explaination was that the trash would be picked up eventually so, they are still doing their part!I can't wait to find another service..all because of one rude woman!
Wow, after reading these reviews, I don't think mine will do much to to raise opinions of this company. Anyway, after being a customer in good standing for several years, I didn't receive my quarterly bill. I really do have more on my plate than watching for it, so it didn't cross my mind. So consequently, last week, they didn't take my trash. I had planned on calling, but got busy and didn't. That was Tuesday, and on Saturday morning, they came and took back, their busted and cracked up old cans from my property. Guess they showed me! I probably don't know much about running a trash service, but wouldn't a reminder by phone or email have been more appropriate? I called today, squared up and have since moved on. I have a pickup, and the dump is right down the road.
Worst service ever. First they charge you for regular service and deliver a senior can. When you call, you are told "I thought you wanted senior service." Then why did you charge me for regular?? They don't tell you there is a $35 fee for delivering the cans. They also don't bother to tell you there is an added fee if you receive a paper bill, even after you are given a price without that fee. Then, on top of it all, they don't bother to pickup the trash anyway. I quit them years ago for the same reasons, but thought they might have improved with the change in ownership. Unfortunately, only the name has changed. I am back for three weeks with a problem every week. They have received the last payment from me that they will ever get. I GIVE UP. If I could assign Zero stars, I would.
After being a customer since 1986, they told me I could write a letter to suspend P/U while at my Florida home. Well, I got a letter from a collection agency and when I called them, they said they never got my letter, so I had to pay for the time away, plus a late fee. AND if I wanted to reinstate trash p/u I would have to pay another $35 fee. I told them they are a poor excuse for a company and paid them just to cancel my account! After 29 years as a customer, this is how I was treated. Avoid this deadbeat company by all means!!!!!!!
Well I am NOT a satisfied customer! We used to have no problems with our trash being picked up. For the past year or so we've had nothing but problems. For starters there was only one guy who dumped the trash who had any respect towards the customers. I don't know if he's just no longer on our route or doesn't work for them any longer, so now we've got some idiot that don't always pick up everything (and YES it is trash). He has skipped us numerous times and tends to think he's playing baseball by throwing our cans while standing at the back of the trash truck and half the time not even making it into the yard but instead out in the street! To him he may think it's just a trash can, but when you have to buy them over and over due to them busting them up, it gets costly!!! I've even stood outside and watched the guy dump someone's trash and spill half of it on the road, just to leave it there!!! How rude!!! I'd hate to see his house or yard. My husband worked for Harford Sanitation for a little over 8 years and always had rave reviews from his customers. NEVER would he have treated his customers like this. And here I call to ask if they'd take our yard waste and they want to charge me $45....are they crazy!!! I can drive it to the dump for less than that. WOW I just don't know what to say other than BOOOOOOO YOU SUCK.
I called for one of their &amp;amp;quot;free cans&amp;amp;quot; after they dropped recycling down to once every other week- without lowering the price. Well... it's been almost 2 months and they still haven't brought out the can. I just went to bring in my recycling can and they didn't even bother to take the whole can... how can you half dump a can???? I've tried to call several times and you can never get through... probably because they have one receptionist and a bunch of upset customers. I don't believe there reducing carbon footprint claim for reducing recycling... nope... it's their bottom line... they pay less people... provide less service... and make more money for themselves. And of course... when people's recycling bin fills up... they're going to just throw out their recycling- that's human nature. WORST garbage company that I've ever dealt with.----Last week they didn't pick up my recycling and myself and my neighbor and people down the road had their cans out. They can't be bothered to provide you with when your recycling actually is. I e-mailed a question... got not response.This week 4-9-13 my recycling was not picked up either? Are they so stupid they can't get their own every other week schedule straight??? Honestly... DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY WITH A 10 FOOT POLE!!!! Also had a conversation with my neighbor and he had the same problem getting his large garbage can... said he had to wait about 6 weeks after they told him he would get it! Ridiculous... Harford Sanitation deserves a ZERO!!!----------------Update 4-11 I received a call back on 4-10 and the gentleman was very polite and apologetic. There had been a road closed and they hadn't came down with the recycling truck, but they were supposed to do the run the following day and they didn't. They sent a truck out to pick up the recycling and hopefully they will be able to put the schedule on their website soon. So, I am hoping for an improvement in quality of service!
They miss picking up my trash about once a month. They manage to just empty the cans halfway. They break the handles off my cans. I have learned that it is pointless to complain.
Overall service is good, and I love the new huge cans they provide free of charge. We now can fit all recycling into one container. However, since Waste Industries bought them, they must have consolidated the phone lines, because it never used to take this long to get to a human. Yes, I have been trying for twenty minutes to get a simple question answered. Can I put out an old mattress? Still on hold, so I don't know. The recording recommends going online, but you can't find the answer there either. They need to have a list of what you can and can not put out for pick up. Either that, or hire more humans to answer the phone.
