Spousal Support
The court will work to divide any property according to the intent of the couple in a domestic partnership. If the intent was to share the property, then the court will attempt to facilitate equitable division. If that was not the intent, then other arrangements will need to be made. In either case, spousal support or alimony is not typically part of any domestic partnership property division considerations.
Legal Separation
Meet the residency requirements – One party in the divorce has to have lived in Oregon for at least six months before (s)he can legally file the divorce petition. For those who don’t meet the residency requirements, it may be possible to file for legal separation and then convert that into a divorce proceeding once the residency requirement has been met.

Annulment, voiding or invalidating the marriage – In Oregon, grounds for annulment include (but may not be limited to) coercion or fraud used to compel the marriage, or for religious purposes.

In November 1994, Oregon voters passed “Measure 11” which places a mandatory minimum sentence for offenses in which there is a clear victim, such as murder, rape, sexual assault, child abuse, kidnapping, arson, and others. It does not apply to drug crimes, property crimes or other victimless crimes.

In certain circumstances, assault can be charged as a Measure 11 crime, which will bring on severe mandatory minimum penalties. A conviction to assault in the first degree will lead to a minimum of 90 months (seven and a half years) in prison.
