Overall

I heard their breakfasts were great, so tried one today, the breakfast plate, when asked how I wanted my eggs, I said "soft scrambled' the order taker say scrambled, I said no, SOFT scrambled, do you know how cook them that way? I got no answer. Sure enough the eggs were dry and hard, NOT soft scrambled, so much so I couldn't eat them.. The cooks need to learn what soft scrambled is and how to cook them that way. The hash browns were almost raw. On a plus side the bacon, sausage and the coffee were ok.

Not too bad, look forward to trying more of the menu

We pulled through the drive thru one day and grabbed a handful of their tacos, carnitas and pollo. Thought they were good, so decided to try it again someday.

We did just that last night for dinner and wanted to give my thoughts.

I ordered the asada tacos and was very pleased with not only the presentation, but the taste as well. So far, their tacos are batting 1,000.

My wife had the Chicken Salad, and while the chicken was most excellent, the lettuce was a definite weak link in the chain. First off, it's a typical iceberg and red cabbage mix. Yeah, I get it, it's extremely low food costs, but it lacks in the flavor department. Add in the fact that it is not cut into proper bite size pieces (customers do not want to try shoving a huge piece of lettuce in their mouths....dressing on your chin is not attractive). Add in your choice of ranch or thousand island dressing, and the salad was only so-so.

Other than the tacos, which we split, I also had the Mexican Burrito with pastor. The meat was great, the rice was good, the beans were beans, and overall, the burrito was okay. Where it jumped up a notch was when I dumped two cups of their green salsa over the top of it, that was what it needed, a massive spike of flavor. To be honest, I don't think I will be ordering the Mexican Burrito again. It was okay, but not worth a return trip without the green salsa.

The green salsa? What makes it better than the nearly identical green salsa you get at every other Mexican place in town? The cilantro. There is just enough cilantro added to it to make it pop, and to make it a little different from everyone else.

Overall, the restaurant was very clean, the prices reasonable, the menu is attractive, and the staff were friendly.

We will definitely be back, in spite of the slight lackluster of the two dishes we tried, mostly because the menu is attractive enough, and the flavors are there enough that I can see that the place has potential. Finding the right dish will be key.

Who knows, maybe it is on their breakfast menu?

Mmmmmm, breakfast.

Nom Nom and Nom

Excellent food and even better customer service. They are always cleaning something. Seldom are the tables left dirty. The staff has always been extremely friendly. Tried El Pollo Loco as a comparison and was highly disappointed. HIGHLY. Don Chilitos could teach that crazy chicken (and their worthless staff) a few good lessons.
