I wish I had read these reviews before going to King Palace. When I went to the far left of the buffet to get a plate for dessert I saw a scrap of something on the top plate....obviously not checked for cleanliness before being put out...and a roach eating on the scrap. I called my dining companion over and showed it to him too. Unfortunately it ran off before the employees came over. I was offered 50% off....for what???being willing to eat off of plates roaches have crawled over and aren't checked to make sure they are clean??? I'll bet you know what I told them they could do with their bill. And the iced tea...almost no ice at all and none within 1 minute...and the very light brown color of water when the city works on the lines and doesn't flush them well...for $2.00 a glass. The main food was poor...the fruit was ok. But I've always been told: where you see one roach there are many, many you don't see. I'll check here the next time before I go out to eat.
My parents used to won this restaurant and we sold it in november 2011 and since then I have been there a couple times and it really is just super bad now. The place has no good food in there everything was over seasoned and undercooked. I have tried to help but they wouldnt take my advice and no one goes to that place anymore
I believe this is the best Chinese buffet in Beaumont. Atmosphere is nice, they are polite, clean, and are generally pumping out fresh food. The sushi can be hit or miss. Sometimes it is good, sometimes not so much. Very small rolls though. They have a decent selection of fruit and sweets, nothing extravagant.
As with ALL buffets, try and show up around the hot hours (lunch, dinner). If you show up around 3pm, you're likely to have food that has been sitting out. They aren't going to make a ton of fresh food when no one is there eating (duh).
The last few times, I've had terrible servers. They are polite, nice enough, but will generally ignore you the whole dinner (except to pick up plates). After leaving my drink on the edge of the table, empty, for 10 minutes, I give up.
It is obvious to me that there has been a change in management because the place has generally been having better quality of their foods. They have also introduced a large take-out menu that advertises it being fresh, cooked to order. Reasonably priced and a nice selection. I haven't had a chance to try it out, but if it's like the buffet, and for the price, I think it'd be a good deal.
