Went in to buy a firearm and knew exactly what I wanted from a previous visit. The salesman at the firearms counter was very rude and did not care that I was even there. He had finished helping the only other customer there and was just talking to them. I told him I was there to buy a gun and he said "someone will be coming in soon and can help you". If it had not been for the manager I spoke with offering to help me my 1800 dollars would have been spent somewhere else. I will not shop there again. they need to better train there employees to have respect for there customers.
Very poor customer service. Went in to talk to a sales person about personal protection and got some "Good Ole Boy" who was more concerned with where I was from than showing me the merchandise. He was very unprofessional and held the firearm one handed "like a gangsta" saying pow pow. The sales rep was a white male early 20's late teens blue eyed brown hair. He proceeded to ask question which did not pertain to the purchase of a firearm. Where did I come from, do I own any guns. At one point I was asking to look at a Glock and he walked away then turned around and laughed. I was so aggrivated with the whole experience I asked to speak to a manager, waited up front for 10 minutes and was told he was at lunch, left the store when to Academy "which i recommend" for 30 minutes got all the help I needed called Gander Mountain to talk to a manager and they where still at lunch... Dissatisfied. Will never go back. Prices are high, and the service stinks.
Gander Mountain is a clean store with nice merchandise. The only problem is, their prices are really too high to even be competitive with other stores like it, for example Academy. Over all, you can get the same thing at Academy for a better price. Otherwise, I do like going into Gander Mountain, even if it is just to look around.
