Dr Huynh is tops in my book.I used him 2 years ago he was very informative and as I am older and hard of hearing very helpful. The glasses he measured me for fit much better than any I have got in the past.I am going back this,or next week since it is time to get new glasses.
I have never experienced being verbally and emotionally attacked by a staff member. She identified herself as (Dr. Eric Thai's wife), in front of others patients, staff members, which included Dr. Eric Thai. She was belligerent and belittling in her attempt to communicate. I was only revisiting this location to secure requested information from my recent eye exam/frame fitting on (March 29, 2014)Instead, I was spoken to so disrespectfully. If that wasn't enough, she adamantly refused to give me all of my results. I know my insurance covered the entire visit, therefore; I vehemently question why I am only privy to a portion of my results? I was mishandled, disrespected, and treated with prejudice. No thought was given or exercised as it pertained to my rights as their customer of the last five years. The tone of voice used to address me was intentionally demeaning, furthermore; it was intended to incite an interaction that surely would have ended in an altercation. However, I had no desire to lower myself to her standard. Therefore, if you care less as to the overall treatment you'd receive at the hands of these unprofessional professionals, turn a blind eye and prepare to be blindsided.
Rude staff, particularly Becky. She acts like you're bothering her for doing her job. Dr. Patin is a nice fellow, but 6 months ago he recommended a new contact lens for dry eyes. From day one I had problems, but I had purchased them and sent in the bar code on the boxes for a rebate which I never received. So I thought I was stuck and had to finish them. After suffering through six months of uncomfortable lenses it was finally time to reorder. I asked to go back to the previous brand. They refused to order them without another exam. Another $35. After trying to explain the situation they refused to offer another alternative. I have never been so disappointed in an establishment. Would not recommend this place at all.
Made an appt. with the Gonzales office thinking I was making it with the BR office for my two sons to have eyes checked. The Gonzales office takes VSP. The BR office does not. I called ahead to be sure my insurance was accepted. It is accepted but not for the dr. the appt was with. No one bothered to let me know this when making the appt. Found out when I rec'd a bill for $395! Imagine my surprise! Called office manager to see if they would work with me since I assumed because Gonzales accepted VSP they did, too (my mistake). Also to find out why they did not let me know when the appointment was made. I chose him because we have all seen him before. Called the office manager back after about a week later to follow up. After leaving 4-5 messages for a week straight, she finally called back to let me know the drs. had decided the charges would remain with no sort of adjustment. So very disappointed! Won't make same mistake twice!
I been here with hopes of help many times til I finally said no more taking my money for nothing, I can find a crackhead to tell me what the docs there did. If you want the common cold treated go there anything more, please don't they mis/wrongly diagnose people daily, I had extensive 1 year of test in Chicago to find out I have MS and I went to Ochsner 1 MRI and the doctor tells me after 6 years of treatments in Chicago you don't have MS, my treatment stopped I lost the use of my arms and now have problems walking and only getting worse, I would never let my children see doctors there, I think they only have G.E.Ds. I am a forensic scientist and the doctors did not know that when I was being seen. I played dumb so they would think I was the average joe. Sorry you have lost my business, and now being treated by a great doctor/neuro elsewhere.
I love Dr. Thai. I really do. And the only reason I put up with his so-called assistants is for his excellent services. I can't tell you the amount of times they miscommunicated to him what exactly I needed. Fortunately, he is patient and understands English, whereas his assistants do not. Would help if they were bilingual or something.Secondly, the assistants are very chatty to one another. They hardly pay any attention to whoever walks in and you have to be a little rude to get them to service you. (I hate that)They also have no idea how insurance works (as you may see from other reviewers). Ex: The last time I went I knew I didn't need new glasses, just new lens prescription. After the exam , the lady helping me insisted I pick a new pair, and assured me the insurance would cover it. Well, it didn't. And they were pricey glasses. Then she realized her mistake and tried to fix it in her system.Something that should have taken me 15 minutes to order took about an hour. Ridiculous.Don't go here if you're in a rush, that's for sure. I don't know how much more of his "assistants" I can take.
ive been wearing glasses for 30 years and have bought quite a few pairs but never had an optician as helpful as the one at vision for less, Serena took her time and truly helped me with picking out frames that look the best on me, being honest about what looked the best on me, i was very satisfied with my service there and ended up getting 2 pairs that i love. Thank You Serena and keep up the good work, Rhonda Perrone
My first visit with this eye care provider was horrible. A few of the staff were rude and not helpful with helping me get an understanding on why my insurance didn't cover my visit. The nurse rushed me to hurry off the phone with my insurance company because they were closing in 30 minutes, however I had waited in the reception area for 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. After I talked to my insurance company, I decided to go ahead and pay for the eye exam out of pocket and purchase glasses. The eye exam was $85 and I purchased eye glasses. My visit totaled to approximately $400. I was also interested in contact lenses, but the exam for contacts were an additional $60 plus I would have to purchase the contact lenses. I have worn contact lenses for several years. The eye doctor Eric N. Thai acknowledged that my vision had not changed. I informed him that I wanted to purchase contacts from 1800contacts and he discouraged me from doing so, saying that he could could order my contacts and match the third party's price. However, I decided to order my contacts at a later date. The next week I contacted the eye care provider to receive my eye exam prescription so that I could purchase contacts from 1800contacts. 1800contacts told me I would only need my prescription from my eye exam. Premier Eyecare refused to write a prescription for my contacts stating that I would have to pay them an additional $60 for a "contact fitting", where they only put testers in the eye and then they would write a prescription. There would not be any measurement to my eyeballs or anything significant. When I went in person to ask for the prescription. Dr. Thai got aggressive saying he will not write my prescription without me paying for a contact fitting. I then asked him, had I did the $60 contact examination instead of the eye examination, would I have been able to buy glasses and contacts. He said yes. However, since I only purchased the $85 eye exam, I could only get glasses. My issue with this business is that I informed them I was interested in both contacts and glasses. They were not willing to inform me that I could have just did the contact exam, and I could have purchased both glasses and contacts. The eye doctor and his staff informed me that the contact exam would be an additional $60 (not including contact lenses) to the $400 I paid for eyeglasses and a regular eye exam. A good and honest business would be forthcoming with informing patients who are interested in both eyeglasses and contact lenses that they could save $15 if they get the contact exam, which would work for glasses as well. Instead, this business wanted to gyp patients out of money by withholding this information. It would not have been difficult to write my eye prescription. But since they were aware that I wanted contacts from a third party seller, they refused to cooperate with writing my prescription because they were aware that I needed it for contact lenses. So after spending $400 with this eye care provider, they refused to help a loyal customer because they were overcome by greed.
