HUGE RIP OFF!!!!! A Progressive driver hit me and they would not even pay my medical bills!!! I sued them in Small Claims court and represented myself. I WON!!! But now, Progressive is appealing the decision to run up more COSTS!!! I now have a lawyer and they will pay his bills. So IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY YOUR INSURANCE IS SO HIGH IT IS BECAUSE THEY WOULD RATHER PAY LAWYERS THAN PEOPLE THAT ARE HURT!!!!!!!!
What a rip off! If you have a couple of chickens, they don't want you! Then they try to say you own livestock, and send you to farmers insurance. They just want your money for no risk people, easy money for them, don't give them your money! Attitudes got bad once I said I had chickens, agents became rude!!!!!
I gave only three stars because although getting the quote and setting it up online was easy. I didn't like that about two weeks later I got a letter saying now that they ran my info it will actually be higher. I had to do the direct withdraw from my bank account on a regular basis and that's annoying as well. Maybe try talking to them on the phone to ensure the pricing quoted is accurate.
They refused to repair all the damage to my vehicle after a wreck. The steering was damaged they claimed it was not from the wreck but I didn't have steering problems before the wreck. Progressive will never get my business again regardless of price. progressive insurance you still owe $750
First off they only do 6 month policies. Each renewed, you get a renewal discount but then they go up in prices. So each renewal my premium went up and never decreased. This is with no wrecks on my record. When I called to find out why, they said I had a wreck on my policy. I told them I was dropping my policy and they threatened me and told me the wreck would be on my record with every other company. I called usagencies and wow, no wreck. I just renewed my policy and my premiums dropped a huge amount. I started getting calls from progressive, they informed me I owed them 196.00 because I had a 6 month policy with them and never paid it. They informed me that they do not drop policies even though the lady I talked to when I told her to drop it because I was going to usagencies said ok and never informed me that they do not do that. I will dispute this on my credit record.
They quoted $478.94 for a year policy. After I paid in full they changed it to 6 months and sent a bill for $1600 more in price, saying I would have to add all adult children on other policies to this policy on one vehicle. I drop this policy and got one with Liberty Mutual for $268.95 a year. Progressive sent me another bill for $66.08, charging me a total of $542.02 for a policy period of November 06, 2012 to December 30, 2012.
I had Progressive for about a year. They were terrible. I was in 2 accidents that were no fault, but they did their "own investigation" and decided it was my fault. They treated me like I was a common criminal and made my life a living hell. As if it wasn't bad enough being in accidents. I felt completely alone. I figured they would be supportive being that they're one of the top insurance companies. I would rather pay more for an insurance company that wouldn't treat me like a common criminal even if it really was my fault. They're pricing is outrageous and their commercials suck. I will make sure to inform everyone i know how horrible I was treated.
If you get a quote from them be VERY CAREFULL...the rates are only for 6 months and their drop downs and defaults do not offer very good coverage. You get what you pay for! I got an online quote and the premium looked awesome...until I compared the coverages to my current policy and then noticed it was also only for 6 months..waste of time!
i just called to get a quote im with gieco know and tprogressive quoted me so high. 3 times more than i pay know. I drive 1 mile to work 3 times a week and i have a clean driving recored. i would not recomend this company
I am a Kansas Independent Agent Representing a number of Insurance Companies. Most often, (although not always), we find Progressive will represent the best auto insurance value for our prospects and customers. I suspect there was some mistake with your quote and would recommend that you try again. If you get the same, or event close to the same result, try contacting an independent agent for assistance in finding your best auto insurance value.
If the son who had the accident was not a full-time resident of your home at the time of the accident, you are not required to list them as a driver on your policy and the policy covers any licensed driver driving your vehicle, including "guests" even if they are blood-related but do not live with you. You should see a lawyer and sue Progressive.
MY husband and I had full coverage insurance on two cars with them for over a year and a half. And we have twins that were away at Military school whom had been gone from living at home with us for over 6-months. So, they were listed as driver's but due to me having surgery my husband took them off to save us some moneyas current drivers sense they were only home every 3-6months. Well my son was home visiting and was in a car accident and totaled one of our older car which was covered under full coverage with them but my son was not a covered driver at the time of his visit so they did not even try to cover or assist us in the accident at all even though the car was covered and my son wasn't covered for his visit. I know that's how things go but I was hoping to get some help from them sense we did have full coverage on the car half or something not just a door closed in our face like we NEVER gave them our money for coverage for almost 2-yrs. THIS COMPANY SUCKS DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY......GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! WE HAVE!
i am very happy with my rates at progressive. i got a new vehicle and i was expecting the rates to go way high, and they didn't. just a couple of bucks more. i told my friend about it and she just went online to get a quote and she was like . . . ."i should have done this many years ago!" she stated she saved $20 a month. it might not sound like a lot, but the way the economy is heading....it's best to save whatever you can.
Progresssive is a complete joke. I have been using them for a year now and my rates are constantly going up. I start at 103 dollars a month, I'm now paying 151 dollars. And no i have not had any tickects or accidents.
People need to realize that the cost of everything is going up. I am an agent i have no tickets or accident nad mine went up just like most peoples. The rise in insurance premiums adjust according to the company's claim losses.
