        The museum, which overlooks the Mississippi River, contains more than 4,600 works highlighted in galleries featuring American and British portraiture, decorative arts, landscape painting, New Orleans silver coins, American Arts and Crafts pottery and Chinese jade as well as contemporary works from Southern artists. Changing exhibitions from the permanent collection are rotated throughout the year.
