The park rides where okay but it took forever to get on any ride or to even get some food or drink. They are understaffed, rude, and insufficient. I saw in the kid water section someone took a "number 2" on the slide and they never washed it off or shut the slide down. We just had a horrible experience and we will not be returning at all.
I'm giving BREC's Liberty Lagoon 1 star, only because I cannot give it 0. The entire experience was far below my expectations for a BREC park. The food was disgusting, the service was poor and it was overcrowded and chaotic. There were several lifeguards spread throughout the facility but they were aloof and did nothing to maintain control or enforce rules. To top it all off, there was an incident when my 4 year old son cut line for the kiddie slide. He was already setting on the top of the slide when the male lifeguard snatched him up by the arm with one hand and pulled him up out of the slide and into the air, scarring him and causing him to drop his goggles. When my mother confronted him about it, he started yelling at her and saying that "he (my son) shouldn't have broken the rules". I contacted management, they gave me the phone number to the corporate office...I called corporate, they said someone would call me back. So, I went to the corporate office where I spoke to someone who is part of the Liberty Lagoon management team (I'm assuming, he didn't really say what his "title" was). He offered a weak apology, told me he would "watch the tape" and then enthusiastically gushed about the mermaid who was going to be at the park on Monday (as if I would attend, after what happened). Overall, I got the feeling from both Management and BREC that my concerns weren't anything to be alarmed about. There was no sincere apology, no sense of empathy; no indication that anything that happened during my visit (bad service, lifeguards not paying attention and letting people break the rules, A LIFEGUARD PUTTING HIS HANDS ON MY CHILD) were unacceptable or out of the ordinary for BREC's Liberty Lagoon. I will never visit this park, again and I urge anyone who is reading this review not to, either. If you want a better experience, you can visit Aqua Pards in Denham Springs. It's priced similarly but everyone is friendly, the park is facilitated better, the concessions are A MILLION TIMES better (they even have a sno cone shack! Yummy!). It is a tad smaller than Liberty Lagoon but it is so much more fun that this park and it's worth it! Let me just say here (about the incident with my son) that I am not writing this review because I'm angry that my kid got in trouble. My son was breaking the rules, I was watching when it happened, and I disciplined him for it. I would not have been angry at the lifeguard for telling me that he couldn't go down the slide anymore. More so, if he had picked my son up with 2 hands and handled him with care, I would not be angry but lifeguards in places like this one have a responsibility to facilitate safety and control, not to man-handle little kids.

will never go back to Blue Bayou or advise anyone to come here the owner down. When we arrived the Supervisor told me the rides were shut down for a while due to the weather and the pool was open so I said ok as long as we can swim that's fine when I changed into my swim wear the rain was coming down harder so the pool was now closed understandable as we patiently wait I went to the front gate to ask what's the policy of reopening the pool because when I came in she told me the pool was open I was told that was at that time no refunds I said ok is there a number I can call the other employee wearing a Supervisor shirt says the number is 225753 real fast I looked at him said there is no way you expect me to Remember that he then took a deep breath thought about it and said ok as he was walking off insaid why he have an attitude he went to the office when he came back to hand me the number he said here it don't matter you already came into the park was that necessary so I said to him I understand that but also remember when I came in what I was told now the Supervisor that told me that never denied she told me that but she said at that time it was open now at this time it's closed we say that on the window ok but then that should have been told to me as in the rides are shut down and the pool is open right now but if the weather continue we will shut that down there is Jonathan oh well that was then its closed now you came thru no refunds I looked at him I called him by his name I said Johnathan and that's how I know his name so well I said johanthan why are you getting smart and this guy walks up points and tell the police put her and her people out he said i dont have time for ghetto people like really because I told your employee not to get smart well the police really didn't feel right about putting me out I must say he was very very nice now with that being said the police took me to the side and said all your people have to go I said for what for asking an employee not to get smart he was very nice he said that he understand but that guy was the owner and if he says you have to go then I have to so my better half thank God for him ask the owner what's going on he said she shouldn't give these Lil kids a hard time they just teenage workers now at this point he's allowed everyone to stay in the best part is nobody was around that was with me so how you gonna put me and my people out and they not around Now do you think maybe either employee should have said hopefully this passes over and we can start everything back up or maybe they could have said let's see how things gonna work out if y'all don't swim we can't give refunds but you can call the home office tomorrow or better yet if that was the owner why would he allow his employees to speak that way to customers that help keep their operation going well guess what they put me out and that's fine I don't go where I'm not wanted I wasn't ghetto I could have showed ghetto but I'm happy I allowed Christ to take over bc he allowed the kids to stay don't get them off the hook he allowed them to stay because how stupid would that look putting all those people out for nothing not impressed and if that's the owner you can't get no higher is what they think but I hope everybody read this story and I'm not hoping he was saying ghetto people bc I'm black and he was white now the police was white as well he said he didnt see me ghetto or irate he said i saw yall going back and forward and that shouldn't be I said exactly you shouldn't fuss or handle a customer like that he agreed yet still had to do his job see there is a way you can break bad news in your job without hurting or insulting bc I was very calm and collective to the point I had to say Johnathan by his name why are you getting smart with me like really but he don't need this ghetto person money or support but he will get as many reviews and letters its unfair to not give good customer service
it's a great place for a family outing. you will enjoy it..
