McDaniel and his manager, Doug Garland are the epitome of slumlords. Doug showed me a house that was nice and clean and then when it was time to move, he gave me the most disgusting house I have ever lived in. There is mold, dirty tile, windows that don't open (against the law btw) and a yard with toilets, wood and old appliances scattered everywhere. These people do not take care of their property and become cruel when you bring it up. I am a student at LSU and was late on rent for one month, and they usually worked with me. Louisiana has a law that allows landlords to speed up eviction processes by putting a statement in their leases that says tenants will only have a 3 days notice of an eviction, a court date and then just 24 hrs to move out. Garland hardly gave me 72 hrs for the notice. My mother's name is on the lease, so she was the one to go to court, but she was in the hospital during the scheduled time. Even though my mom notified Garland that she was in the hospital he chose to go to court anyway, and we lost the case because of a "failure to show." Now that is on her record, which makes it hard to rent again. As soon as Garland came from court he put a notice on my door that said I had 24 hrs to vacate or a constable would force me out and put my belongings on the street. He put a for rent sign immediately up in the front yard. My court date was on a Thurs (5/25) and the following was Memorial Day weekend. That gave me no time to find a new apartment and move my belongings out. Mind you I am already having financial problems and have literally nowhere to stay. I am lucky I have some money or I would be homeless right now. After my mom emailed the judge about their disgusting behavior he gave me until this Thurs (6/1) to move out.Whatever you do, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS SLUMLORD. MCDANIEL AND GARLAND PREY on poor people and are not used to people knowing their rights. He does not know how to take care of his property.
Every night between the hours of 12:00am and3:00am, I leave work to purchase a cup of hot coco and whip cream. There is never any, or the employee gives attitude when you ask when will they have some available. I made a phone call before leaving work and ask if there were any coco and whip cream. The cashier stated that she didn't know, and finally said yes to the coco, but she didn't know if they had whip cream. Are you an employee and not know what is available or is it that you don't want to take the time to look and help the customer. Remember the customer pays your salary. No customers, no job. Right?
Since they have taken over Hidden Point Apartments,the swimming pool has been unsuitable for swimming. The office staff seams to not care about anything. You complain about a resident of color and she doesn't do anything. Would give less stars if I could have.

Don't go to Circle K stores. They should change their name to Ghetto Mart.Nothing but ghetto trash works there. Big black tattooed ghetto animals. Stupid, lazy, rude and ill tempered. Must have ghetto managers as well because that seems to be the only type they hire. Use the bathrooms at your own peril, but be sure to bring your own soap, tissue and paper towels. Don't expect a receipt and be sure not to as the monkey behind the counter for one. It will just qrowl at you. If your white they don't want your business. Stay away! DO NOT SHOP HERE. I don't care if you're just buying a stick of gum or a bag of peanuts. These people are disgusting, I was disrespected from the moment I walked in the door until the time I dropped my items and left. The guy at the counter claimed he was "rich" and didn't need my money. He assumed I was using food stamps and kept yelling at me the the food stamp machine wasn't working. Then when I was ready to check out he told me he wasn't ready and continued to eat his food. PLEASE go spend your hard earned money somewhere else.
UPDATE: 2 years later and they still do NOTHING about maintenance and do not respond to contact. Love the complex, despise the useless incompetent manager Chandra. Will be filing a consumer complaint with the Attorney General's office.Completely useless management. They do nothing about noise complaints. They don't respond to emails. They allow maintenance into your apartment without notifying you. They are completely clueless about the condition of the property. Sink holes were reported to management after a child fell in one and no one responded. Do not rent here!
When I walked into this business this morning I felt as though I walked into a war zone. The owner/manager was screaming at someone in a loud and violent tone. He did not stop as i entered and made me wait till he was finished screaming. I told him that was rude to do in front of customers. I was then told BYE BYE. I KNOW THAT FRANCHISE RULES ARE NOT IN FAVOR OF THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR FOR IT PUTS A BLACK MARK NOT ONLY ON THAT STORE BUT THE COMPANY AS WELL. I DO NOT WISH TO START MY DAY HEARING SOMEONE SCREAMING AND BERATING SOMEONE. IT AFFECTS MY MENTAL STATE AS WELL. BEING A MANAGER I KNOW IT CAN BE DONE(PUTTING YOUR FRUSTRATION ASIDE IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS)THAT IS. EVERY DISCOUNT ZONE WILL SUFFER THE WRATH THAT WAS PUT ONTO ME. AS I NORMALLY SEEK OUT DISCOUNT ZONE'S IN MY TRAVELS; DISCOUNT ZONE WILL NEVER HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISREGARD ME AS A CUSTOMER. THIS OWNER/MANAGER NEEDS ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASSES. I will never go to this gas station again. my husband and his friend (witch are black) went to buy some alcohol. Well my husband forgot to bring his ID with him so his friend was gonna buy the alcohol. Long story short the woman working the register was pretty much refusing to check them out becuase she found out my husband is married to a white woman (me) she let several people cut in front of them and was refusing them what they wanted to purchase all becuase my husband who is black is married to me a white woman. Then the people who im assuming over herd checked out before them asked what was wrong with white woman, that he had loved white/Latino women something on those lines and she told him if she new that she wouldn't have sold him his cigarettes. This was 6-23-15. And then she proceeded to ask my husband why he was with a white woman and why he wasn't with a black woman. First off that's non of anybody's business to even ask. I'm highly upset that my husband and friend was treated the way they were all because of race. But to Deni service and then to let people cut in front of them all becuase of something like that! Who ever this woman is needs to be talked to or let go that's no way to treat people espically ones who are regulars. I will deff not go back to your location if that's how we will be treated.
Worst company I've ever dealt with. Their property manager for the house I'm renting in Baton Rouge is rude & totally unprofessional. Demands the rent on time but if you need something they won't answer your calls/emails. Avoid this company but if you must just make sure your property manager isn't named Mary Glenn. Avoid at all costs.
