Margie did my hair, and I was so blown away that I started crying ( happy tears) She has 30+ years and the salon can be hard to find, but it is beautiful, they are very professional, affordable, and EXTREMELY talented. FINALLY! I have found a stylist who knows how to cut and style wavy, curly hair! Kayla, a curly hair girl herself, at Michael Marie Salon, is as sweet as she is talented. She patiently LISTENS to understand what you want done to your hair before she does anything. She is trained in the Deva cut and style technique which she used to fix my botched haircut from a different salon. I have previously been to three “high end” salons in Baton Rouge and all three were a huge disappointment. Few stylists really know how to cut and style wavy, curly hair. My first visit to Michael Marie Salon was today but it won’t be my last. From the moment I arrived for my appointment I got a good vibe from the salon. It is bright, neat, clean and it has an open airy look. When I walked in, I was greeted with a smile by the receptionist, Christina, who has a really cute personality and is very welcoming. Then, right on time, Kayla brought me back to her chair. She was very empathetic as she looked at my botched haircut and she patiently listened to my ordeal at another salon. I showed her photos and we discussed the cut that I wanted. Kayla took the time to double check my cut after it was styled to ensure that I was happy. I was beyond happy with the results! After Kayla was done, the salon owner, Lauren Hymel, introduced herself. Lauren is the sweetest, most down to earth salon owner that I have ever met. She wanted to be sure that I was leaving happy and she went the extra mile to offer sincere empathy for my bad experience at the other salon. She spent time with me as though she had nothing else to do. Michael Marie Salon is the most client oriented salon that I have ever visited. It was well worth the 45 minute drive to get there. I will never let anyone else cut my hair.

I’ve been getting my nails done here for months now,, love the way they did my nails. However, as I was walking towards the salon to get my nails done, one of the workers who happened to be at the door slammed the door in my face mid sentence as I was asking if they were closing/closed yet. She then locked the door and walked away as if I was not standing there asking her a question. Will NEVER step foot in that place again. I’ve been a loyal customer but I will find another nail place to go to after being treated so rudely.
Horrible. The owner is rude and ugly to clients. She told me she didn't want to repair one nail because she had better clients on the way. Then argued with me for 5 minutes while no one pulled up. I only continued the argument to record the response and her attitude. This place sucks.
