They are rude and don't do there job I took my 5 yr Great Dane there and she wouldn't do X-rays or blood work on him told me after poking his tummy. Said its heart failure and he'll be dead in short time and she said no med would help him wanted to put him to sleep right then being he is like my kid I said NO ... And when I asked about X-rays she said that's above her she's not able to . Wth how is she a vet? And why. 2 days later the office called at 8am and lady said is the dog dead? Really wth ? And that crap service cost me 100 As I was leaving the vet my dog and 2 others we told same thing they had heart failure b.s I took him to a nother vet and she was a moron they gave Him meds and explained the X-rays they did and blood work and a fluid tap. She should get fired I'll never take any pet there. Not even a dead one

people are great, follow up is excellent. really care about your animals.

I highly recommend Dr. Frank Powell at Steuben Veterinary Clinic. He is very personable and knowledgeable, listens to and answers your questions (without rushing you or acting like you're over-reacting) and has a great "bedside" manner. You can tell he really cares about the animals he treats, as well as their owners!



That being said, I've found from past experience that this office is best at routine exams and common animal care only. I would not take my pet there for any condition that required leaving him there without me. I honestly don't believe they have adequate staff to really monitor the pets that are left there before and after surgery, or are there for observation purposes. For something such as surgery, or an uncommon condition, I would suggest making the hour drive to Cornell for the best care possible.

Never go to Steuben Veterinary Clinic! The staff is unprofessional, and when you walk in the first thing you notice are the women who are working there are talking loudly about their personal lives. Earlier today I was in because my cat had minor surgery and some stitches fell out. I was told when I came in that there would be no charge for re suture, after everything was said and done it was demanded of me that I pay for a job that should have been done correctly in the first place. The staff is rude, condescending, and incredibly incompetent. This was a bait and switch. Also, under their care with staff present, my cat while still drugged fell and knocked over an instrument tray. They brought her out to me soaking wet, and laughingly let me know this. She could have been seriously hurt! I advise everyone with pets, if you want the best care possible for them, do not take them to Steuben Veterinary clinic. If I could give them a lesser rating than 1, I would.
