Purchased new Polaris Ranger 900, with extended warranty. Was told warranty covered everything mechanical, and that all we had to do is bring it in and it would be fixed. It would not shift if the motor was running, so we called and were told to bring it in, while there it was time for its first servicing so we had that done too. Their “mechanics” said they could not find anything wrong. We paid over $300 for the service and oil change. The 2nd time we took the Ranger in it was even harder to shift after they worked on it and it would not shift without shutting the motor off and we had to put it in gear with the motor off. We called the third time and made an appointment for the next day, when we showed up for our appointment we got excuses instead of service, after arguing all morning they finally took the Ranger back in the service area. Their “mechanics” had dissambled the clutch and my husband went back to watch what they were doing, and they had the clutch in their hands and talking about it “ binding” and trying to figure out what was causing the problem. A woman came back there and told my husband he wasn’t allowed in there and had to leave. Shortly thereafter they brought the Ranger out and said all they could find was the drive belt was “dished out” they replaced the belt and charged us $118.00 for it. The manager said it wasn't covered because we were starting off in high gear! Apparently “IT-WILL-NOT-SHIFT-WITH-THE-MOTOR -RUNNING!” fell on deaf ears. Now the Ranger is even worse than it was before they worked on it. It still will not shift with the motor running, but now when we apply the brakes the motor will dies. Manager said Insurance will not pay for repairs without inspecting defective parts first. I wonder if the people running this place had bought a new car if they would be happy having to restart the motor every time they applied the brakes, and their dealership wouldn’t /couldn’t fix it.Was told Owner was permanently unavailable.
