This company is a joke. I went in one day looking for a basic prodcut. The salesman could not answer my question so he directed me to the chubby owner sitting in the back of their storage area wearing old shorts, cheap sandals and sporting some of the worst breath you could imagine. I could not believe how much of a jerk this guy was. He treated me like garbage. I was beside myself. I had my 9 yr-old son with me so I did not say anything that would start an argument. When we got back to my car my son asked "Dad, why was that guy so angry?" I can't believe he is still in business.Everything in the store is extremely over-priced. After seeing what kind of a person the owner is, I simply go in there to look at lights, get the model number and order it online.

Fair price, good service. Not a big operation. My experience was that they are a mom and pop outfit that cares about their work and the customers they are helping.

I called John at the end of last winter 2015 because my pellet stove was jamming. I ended up replacing nearly every part in the stove before coming to understand that it was bad pellets that were the problem. He worked hard and didn't pad the bill but here's the rub. He told me that my convection blower was going to need to be replaced and to not buy one in the summer because he was going to be a distributor and could get me one at a lower price. They retail for $300. I waited then called him in October to get that motor. He told me that he'd get right on it but to date Dec. 4th I still am without a motor (and heat) and all further calls to find out what's going on have been utterly and completely ignored. I have found way to much of this kind of behavior from business people here in Vermont and it's really awful.
The review of Jamie C. seems to be VERY valid after experiencing a similar situation. In late April of 2015 his company installed a TV satellite which later proved to require an extension arm. After three phone calls and an e-mail it became apparent that an arm had not been ordered and that further service would not be forthcoming. A call to the corporate office revealed that the promised arm had never been offered. To the credit of corporate Dish, the matter was rectified to our satisfaction. Service follow-up is nonexistent.
As a matter of fact Cody, I am the other owner of this property, I witnessed and heard every conversation you and Stephanie had, you did NOT follow through on anything that you have initially guaranteed... You were completely out of line , rude, disrespectful and further more absolutely condescending in the way you spoke to Stephanie !!! We waited all day today, with promises that you were NEVER able to deliver.

I have had nothing but excellent service for the five years I have been doing business here. What is particularly important is their level of knowledge about electrical wiring, important if you are interested in special lighting arrangements for the kitchen. Love them!

The previous rating is bunk! The owners of Barre Electric are friendly and helpful. Their design of my kitchen remodel was fantastic! While some of the products are priced higher, you get what you are paying for in quality. I recommend them for your electrical needs!
