This is the worst and least professional taxi service I've ever had the displeasure of riding. My wife and I just landed at the baltimore harbor after a cruise. We needed to get to the horseshoe casino which is about a 10 minute drive. I figured it wouldn't cost much to take us to the casino. So we hopped into the first cab at the port, which was this company. So as we drove, the taxi number 560 didn't turn on his meter or was that friendly. It took us 30 minutes for a ten minute drive. He even took a toll road to get to the casino! So we got out of the cab and I thought the cab driver said 16 dollars. I thought all of that detour he took was reasonable, but I was still unhappy. He told me I heard wrong and tried to charge me $60 dollars!!! My wife and I argued with him and he said some BS about a road being closed and he had to drive around the outside of the city. These people are crooks, stay away from this crappy company. NYC and even Philly drivers have never scammed me in such a manner. If you do decide to go with this company, negotiate a price before you get in the cab.

#117 is the best!

I was running to catch the bus this morning, and the wonderful driver of cab 117 (according to another review, it's Marcus) pulled over and told me to get in and he'd get me to the bus. The bus skipped the next stop and he kept me and promised to get me on--even started motioning to the bus driver to pull over! He was so nice and did not let me pay him anything. Very kind and not the kind of thing you see every day.

Worst service ever

I entered a Red Ball Taxi and asked to be taken to my nearby (1.5 miles away) hotel. I have taken a taxi several times from the same location and was charged $6 for the ride. The Red Ball Taxi driver (could not see his name plate) told me he wouldn't take me unless I paid $10 for the ride - that he was waiting for a fare to the airport.

He was sitting at a Taxi Stand with his available light on and was the first in line at the stand. It is a shame that if you are not going to provide a large fare ride for the customer that your service and manners are lacking.

ABC cab picked me up and only charged me $5 for the ride.

Hot Cabs!

Worst cab service ever! After going only a few blocks and the meter hitting around $12 we immediately told him to stop. He stopped but pulled away doors open with some people still in the car. They were screaming and he wouldn't stop to let them out. I had to chase the cab a block down a vacant street before he let the remaining passengers out. It was terrifying. His ID wasnt displayed & I believe the cab # was 256.

Stay Away from Red Ball

Where do I begin....Our cab fare started out with $2.50 extras charge. When I asked what this was for, I was told it was for the gas fee and night time fee. Meter was running abnormally fast.
Our cab fare was $15 (which we later found out should have only been $7). We asked to be dropped off at a certain restaurant. When he stopped the cab at a random corner in Fed. Hill we asked where the restaurant was-- he said just a block up the street....we walked and walked- and finally asked someone where this particular restaurant was-- it was in Canton- no where near Fed Hill. Please avoid Red Ball at all time in Baltimore....or you'll be taken advantage of.

The Worst Taxi Experience Ever..

I hate to label one company bad, when this is the first bad expereince I have had. Saying they have ""fast"" meters does them way too much justice. This particular cab, #73, was running at a rate of $8 a mile. I repeatidly asked to be allowed out of the cab and was denied. The doors were looked and the knobs of the locks removed. I felt my life was being threatened as the driver yelled and drove with no regard for anyone. My rights were completely violated, and experiences like this are reasons why Baltimore is still falling apart. I sure hope the cab driver doesn't treat tourists as bad as locals.

What a terrible experience. I will never take a Red Ball cab ever again.

couple of bad experiences

extremely fast meters plus $1 night charge translate to average rates that are about 30% higher than other baltimore cab companies. i tend to avoid.
