My child attended this center and was Kindergarten ready when he left. What I like best about the center is its strong academic program. While most centers allow the children to play most of the day with little structure, this center is the opposite. This center is much more like a school Pre-K program and nothing like a home daycare where you are just paying for babysitting services. There is structured classwork throughout the day as well as opportunities for free play. The center director, Ms. Pearson is undoubtedly one of the most caring, professional, and qualified people I know. She truly loves all of the children so much and that is clear from how she cares for them. The center even goes above and beyond to offer additional enrichment such as Spanish, Gymnastics, Music, Art, and Field Trips just to name a few. If you want your child to be treated well, well-educated, and well-rounded this center is the place to send them.

I enrolled my child at Charles Plaza Child care development when my child was 2 years old, and now she is 3 and a half. The Director, Theresa Pearson, is such a warm, knowledgeable and professional teacher that shows that she only wants the best for your child. I have seen a lot of growth in my child. She loves to read and presents new things she has learned all the time. Because she knows her alphabets, now her teacher is concentrating on phonetic sounds so she will be learning how to read. My daughter is so excited about going to school, she does not want to miss a day. It makes me feel so proud as a parent to see the joy from my child being in such a positive environment. I feel by her being at Charles Plaza Child Care Development Center, it is preparing her for her future.

I had a wonderful experience at Charles Plaza Childcare & Development. Both of my children graduated from that program and are now excellent students in elementary school. My children started their first weekly magazine there.
They learned letters and letter sounds there. They were really prepared for kindergarten when they left that excellent program. I found the teachers to be warm, caring, and informed. An attractive clean environmental that the children really enjoyed.

Do not be fooled

I recently enrolled my son at Charles Plaza Childcare and I had to remove him within weeks. This center sounds good on paper yet they do not follow any of their own policies. The caregivers are unqualified and yell at the children. They serve cornflakes for snack everyday and they allow the children to use the bathroom, among other things, without supervision. This place in my opinion is on par with home Childcare centers.

Charles Plaza Nightmare

I am highly dissatisfied with the level of care, or shall I say lack thereof, that this center provides. The Director Ms. Pearson is a highly unprofessional, deceitful, unintelligent, ignorant, and blatantly discourteous individual. Furthermore, she does not properly attend to crucial matters that concern the children’s well-being and safety. My attorney has had to contact the center regarding their ongoing failure to adhere to the court-order custody arrangement between my ex-husband and me. Her response was an unintelligible and irrelevant letter missing the central matter at hand; my son’s welfare. I would strongly discourage any parent that truly cares about their child from enrolling in this center.

I am clearly confused by moundsgirl negative remarks, CPCD is a great place.

I am truly baffled the negative remarks about Charles Plaza. I daughter was there for 2 years until we relocated to the DC Area. CPCD is a very nurturing environment. My daughter learned how to count, alphabet, spanish, and many other things in her time at the center. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR CHILD FOR THE PRICE. The thought that it's expensive is ridiculous. Try finding quality child care in DC, or anywhere in Baltimore for that matter.

Parents if you want your child to be kindergarten ready this is the place Charles Plaza Child Care &

I am so grateful to the staff at Charles Plaza Child care & Development for the wonderful experience they afforded my child . The staff are true advocates for children and were very nurturing with my daughter who had real problems with self control, and following simple directions. My angel is truly one of a kind. Through that program her socialization skills improved and she learned. She is the top of her kindergarten class and she actually learned to read at the center, through the reading program, most of the children in her class learned to read before they left the program and learned numbers . The children had very interesting science experiences; they learned about metamorphsis by having tadpoles that actually turned into frogs, once they had eggs to hatch into chicks, identified dinosaurs by name and characteristics they were always digging for dinosaur fossils, watching erupting volcanoes, and making snow in a bag the children were always observing changes. They learned Spanish and perform gymnastics at the Baltimore County Festival.

The children now use the newly six million dollar renovated park at Charles Plaza for a safe play space. A new drop and load area makes it easy for parents.

The children are involved in the most wonderful field trips, a dinner theater and a play, the science center, aquarium, ride the duck, discovery museum, B&0 train museum, pumpkin patch and many many more.

The center is accessible, affordable, warm friendly and they care about parents and children. My family wishes we could give them 10 stars! It is a center with about 36 children and it is the BEST!

I am a parent who spent 3 years in the Center.

No space to play!

I thought this was the best thing for my child but have since realized that there is no place for any of these kids to play outdoors. No obvious enrichment activities and little creativity involved in the daily activities.
