I was a little bit nervous at first because I don't really go to hair salons. I had a really bad experience at one before. So I have natural hair and I looked up salons and this one popped up. From the phone call I knew that this place was professional. This place must be under new management because these other reviews could not be further away from the truth. I called their and was immediately asked what service that I was looking for . I told her that I was transitioning and wanted a big chop. She told me the process of getting an appointment and it is online. You do have to pay a deposit of $35 which I was a little bit Leary but it's through PayPal so it was cool. She said that it will come off of my bill when I was serviced. I was like dang they serious. I receive a text to show up 15 minutes early so I did. I was immediately serviced and was out of the salon in less than 2 hours. The salon is intimate and quite serene. We watched Wendy Williams and the staff was professional. She offered some products for me to purchase and I did because she used them on me in the salon. This place is going places I felt like I was special. I will be back.
I have gone to Shonte for two years now and my hair has grown down my back. She is absolutely gifted at styling hair. I have had all kinds of proble…
I called in advance for my appointment and I was told to book online. Im getting used to this type of thing even though I am old school. So I had to pay $35 to reserve my spot. I understand though because I know people flake on their appointments. It really makes it hard on everybody else. But I did book. So when I went to the salon the salon was a cute quaint place. They have it really laid back there. They had the tv on and we watched a different world. I really like that show. well anyway. I received a relaxer. The stylist explained to me everything that she was going to do. She also told me what products she used on me and gave me the option of taking some products home. I got a hair cut because my ends were quite damaged. She deep conditioned my hair. I just was very impressed on the service. The price was good as well. I don't get my hair done so I understood paying $125 for everything. I will be back when its time.
Honestly, not the best hair experience I've had. Why?1. The salon is not very clean or tidy, I had to go next door to use the bathroom and by the time I left I saw a cockroach running across the floor 2. Although my braider was nice, it doesn't excuse the fact that she and her coworker, basically, neglected us by talking in their own language and ignored the fact that I was in pain the entire time. I mean, I understand that its probably more comfortable to talk in your native tongue, but, when you have clients you should make them feel comfortable and acquainted. I just didn't really enjoy the experience, at all, actually. I'm not sure if I'll come back here again.
OMG, So I was leaving soon to go on a trip and I didn't want to be bothered with my hair. I wanted to get my hair braided but a lot of the African salons/living rooms/ kitchen/ whatever can be a little seedy. Plus they are always talking on the phone or to one another at the top of their voices, screaming and that gets on my nerves. Needless to say my experience at Wazala was nothing like this. The place was immaculate, my stylist was a boss. She made sure I was comfortable, gave me bottled water to quench my thirst and proceeded to braid the hell out of my hair . Long story short , I love it and I will be returning. Check out my Senegalese twist on here site.
After reviews on line I decided to give Fifi's African Hair braiding shop a try. I called the day before to make my appointment. I arrived the next day and we discussed my hair length, style and price. We agreed and my process started. I got cornrows with a double row down to my but. It took four hours. Those four hours were in a comfortable and clean environment. The shop was pleasant and bathrooms clean. She did a great job! She took her time, braided to the ends without being asked and took care for my edges. I was not happy with the previous place so I will will be returning to Fifi's Braiding Shop to between Saratoga and Howard! #happycustomer
I was debating for a couple of weeks whether to get braids or not I would do my own braids and I haven't had them in 15 years so I was searching for a shop 5:30 in the mornin I call to store her phone number in my phone for later and she called me right back at 5:39 and told me to come in at 9:00 that mornin My hair was very very short but those ladies worked it out !!!!! I am going natutal....and I found this place online. When I called I was told that I have to have a consultation. I was surprised because I had called several salons and no one said that. The lady was very business like and I got an immediate appointment. When I got there I filled out a card and was serviced. The stylist shayne really did a good job. She took her time and deranged my hair. She gave me some products to take home. The price was 135 but I got a lot for it. My hair was really messed up. I got a deep conditioner trim and flat iron and the price includes products.
