Excellent Service

My neighbor & I are researching upgrades to our fireplaces and we have been all over. St Louis Home Fires has excellent service & excellent pricing - a superior combination. I'd strongly recommend them for any fireplace or grilling needs.



Slow Service

My experience with this company was not great. We were doing an addition and the installer came out to tell us the exact measurement we needed for the frame up of our fireplace. (I realize he probably didn't have to come out, but ours was a custom fireplace and he agreed to do this) After the carpenters built it to his exact specifications, when he came out to install it he said it wouldn't work. He said I told you it might work, it might not. Seriously, would we pay someone to frame up a fireplace if it isn't going to work? So, that had to be torn out and rebuilt. They did give us $100 off of our doors for our time which didn't cover much of the cost.

After the fireplace and the cap were installed, we couldn't go any further with finishing our addition because there was a leak by the fireplace. The roofer looked at it and determined it was the cap, the fireplace installer came out and said it wasn't exactly right, we would have problems with it in the future. The owner came out and said he would have it reddone within a couple of weeks. Approximately 10 weeks later after an installer was suppose to show up and would keep cancelling I got tired of waiting. I told the owner I would hire someone else and he could pay for it. He was very happy to do that. So, we hired another company, they fixed within a week and half, and no more leaks! The owner said he would send a check, but as of this posting have not received it. I also have requested an itemized bill several times, but still have not received that. I am really surprised at this companies customer service.

This situation was resolved to Mrs. Johnsons liking. Although there were some delays, scheduling issues with her contractor created and caused some of the delay. The job was completed to the best of our abilities and I am comfortable that a qualified homebuilder could have resolved this issue much quicker and with a greater understanding. However, the job is done and per our last conversation, the customer is satisfied with all of the resolutions.
