One of the worst title companies I have ever used: Poor customer service and sloppy paper work:It is virtually impossible to reach an escrow officer by phone. One must nearly always leave a message and wait for call-backs, which are usually slow to come. The escrow officers are not lazy or intentionally rude. I have received return phone calls after 8:00 PM from overworked officers apologizing for the late calls. Placer Title just has too few escrow officers handling too many closings to provide good service and careful preparation of important documents. I spent hours corresponding with the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) over tax withholdings they claim to have never received from Placer Title. I was threatened with wage garnishment and tax leans if not paid. It was finally determined that Placer did send the withholdings to the state (over $5,000), but used the wrong tax form – thus all the confusion. I spent far more time on this issue than Placer did in handling my escrow, but my time was of no concern to them. I decided to write a review of Placer Title after learning from one of my real estate agents that my experience was not unusual. She stopped using Placer because of complaints from other clients with stories similar to my own.

It took three weeks just to set up an app. They never call you back and ack as if your business doesn't matter.... I had to call them almost everyday just to get the ball rolling. ask a lot of question cause they don't tell u anything....all in all they don't need your business cause they have plenty....
