The staff was extremely considerate and helpful. They gave extra in detail explanations for any issues which may be occurring as well as answered our questions on general wellbeing and home environment. I am happy I found a great animal hospital.

My dog Chester had an emergency splenectomy a little over three weeks ago. These folks were wonderful. It was a serious situation--an internal bleed--and no one knew for certain how the surgery would come out. Chester was carefully checked and tested, and ultimately had a successful, uneventful surgery. I was called before she went in and after she was done. She recovered uneventfully and fully. A biopsy was positive for hemangeosarcoma--an aggressive cancer that almost inevitably recurs, even if there is no visible tumor left. They referred me to a veterinary oncologist, and she is now having chemo, which she is tolerating beau fully, and I'll have her for a longer time.

I am so very grateful for their quick, i.e. immediate, response and humane treatment of ME, as well as the dog.

We were there on a Saturday night with our Golden Retriever who suddenly could not walk. Dr. Miller and her team were prompt, and gave him immediate help. I was impressed with their knowledge and appreciated their concern to both our dog and us. I appreciated the high/and low price quotes for the different medical tests. We had a very positive experience.

I had a late night emergency with my dog and rushed him to Emerald City. Someone came out immediately and took him back to get X-rays. They quickly informed me of the issue and the estimate for the required surgery. (Emergency care is never inexpensive but it was definitely a life-or-death situation.) We waited while they did the surgery-and had us come back to see him as soon as possible. There is no question that their quick actions saved his life. He needed to be hospitalized for several days due to the severity of his surgery. We had to go out of town but checked in several times a day. Each time, we got complete information in a super friendly and efficient manner and every questions was patiently answered-even after we had taken him home. Truly a great staff!

I highly recommend the people at the office for their compassion and calm when helping distressed pet owners. We called them in the middle of the night after our cat, who was perfectly fine a few hours earlier, seemed to have a seizure and then went limp. The woman who answered the phone listened to what happened and told me what to check when I said we didn't think the cat was breathing. We took her to the office, on the faint hope that there was anything which could be done and really appreciated their kindness when they determined that she had passed away. It is a terrible, terrible feeling to wake up in the middle of the night and watch your cat die with no warning, and I really appreciated the compassionate care.

I brought my dog here last night after I noticed she was having some sort of reaction (most likely bee stings) and was scratching and rubbing her swollen face. Everyone was very friendly and professional. They gave her an exam, administered a few injections to calm the reaction and then had us wait in an exam room for about 30 minutes so they could monitor her progress. They then discharged us with clear instructions for caring for her at home for the next 24 hours. I felt the fees were very reasonable considering that it was an emergency clinic, and they were also very helpful about giving me the paperwork I needed for my dog's insurance coverage. Everyone was so kind and seemed to genuinely love animals (even though her face was all swelled up my dog was still asking for belly rubs and they were happy to oblige). All in all it was a very positive experience, the quality of care was good, and my dog is feeling much better.

Had a good experience with Emerald City with our cat last weekend. Thought I should write something to off set bad reviews. Overall I thought they were competent, friendly, organized, compassionate and not overpriced in the world of emergency vets. If you want the whole story, keep reading. The bottom line is that I would trust them again with any future cat emergencies.

I had to returned two days later because of the swelling in her paw had gotten to an extreme level. So they told me to bring her back in. I called ahead and so they were prepared for her to come in. When I got here they were ready to take her back and checked her out. They found it was just some severe swelling that was going on as a residual from her wound that she received when she was visiting PetCo. The doctor cameout to explain all of the problems that could astride and give me some options to try aftercare to keep her comfortable.

Going to an emergency vet clinic is not ever fun. Ever. You know you're going to spend a ton of money, your furry buddy feels terrible and most likely it's not at the most ideal time.

I have gone to Emerald City Emergency Clinic three times in the past five years because my dog is accident prone and enjoys eating things that he shouldn't. Each time, they are sensitive, caring and loving with us and with him. I really appreciate them explaining everything out clearly to us and outlining our different options for care.

Yes, not a great place to go-- but if you have to-- they're helpful.

My 8 month old French Bulldog puppy started acting drunk and clumsy last night after his walk. I caught him with something in his mouth and tried to pull it out, but by the time I got in there, whatever it was was gone. Half an hour after this, at 9:30 at night, he was swaying while sitting, extremely lethargic, and acting very odd. Panicking, I found the closest emergency vet clinic from my Queen Anne home and Emerald City was it. I would of had to drive to Shoreline or farther to get help and I was not about to risk it.

We were greeted promptly, and he was taken in for an exam. It took about 20 minutes and when the vet came in she gave me some possible diagnoses. She thought he had eaten something toxic and wanted to do a drug screen of his urine to confirm and give him activated charcoal and fluids. All of this was going to be about $800. Expensive, but it's an emergency clinic, the only one in the downtown Seattle area, and it was late at night so I wasn't about to argue.

Turns out, he had eaten an antidepressant pill or a Valium pill during our evening walk to Kerry Park (Watch out fellow dog parents! Stupid addicts dropping their pills probably!!) He only weighs 19 pounds so this could have ended tragically. I was very pleased that I was called several times during the night and early morning with updates and that they took excellent chart notes. The even faxed the notes over to my regular vet so they had the information on file. Overall my dog and I were treated promptly and professionally, which is all I wanted. Yes this ER vet is slightly pricy, but that being said, if you love your pet you just suck it up and pay. It beats having to drive far away in order to save a buck or two.

Needless to say, I am so happy I brought him here and that they took care of him so quickly.

I had a great experience here with my rabbit, Ripley. I had discovered a wound on her side so after calling 4 other places, I finally called them and they had a vet on staff that was experienced in treating rabbits. I was able to drive over right away and they did a great job of clipping and cleaning up the wound. Luckily everything was already healing up nicely, so no medication was needed. Everyone there was super friendly and Ripley did not seem traumatized at all by the visit. We saw Dr. Corrigan, and I will definitely keep them in mind in case Ripley has another emergency.

I have been meaning to write a review for a while but haven't had the time. Oct of last year our dog became sick over night and I had to take him somewhere since it was a Sunday. The staff and vet (I can't remember their names) were all really nice. The front staff actually carried my 75 lb dog into the building. Our dog wasn't stable and after being given options for him we had to euthanize him. The vet was patient and gave us time to think about what our dog needed. They also let us go in the back room and lay with him as they injected him. Very hard day but felt grateful for their patience and kindness. I also got him back earlier than expected and in a really nice box.

Let's talk about my trip to a huge local university hospital emergency room in the middle of the night. I had to sit, while in pain, and go over all the forms and releases necessary for them to treat me. And the bills! Out of this world. Oh, and no warm fizzles for me, either.

Now let's talk about Emerald City Emergency Clinic. They have been nothing but professional and caring in critical, late night situations. In no way did we feel they were there just to make money. Several years ago we had taken out beloved dog there, in the middle of the night, to end her pain. They were extremely compassionate, caring, and professional.

Yesterday we had another late night pet emergency. Our dog was having seizures, and we thought that, again, we were at an end of life situation. Again, they were caring and professional. Our pet was seen immediately and yes, was taken in the back without us. That's the way it goes here. After examination, they gave us a written estimate of the charges. I'm sure some are in shock at the cost of emergency care. The estimate was $247 to $1,363 (we really appreciate knowing what we are getting into so we can make informed decisions). They went over pros and cons of treatment, especially considering her age. There were several positives, and we were able to take our pet home with us. We are to follow up with our local vet.

Bottom line, $248.26 for late night emergency care, we were reassured regarding what was happening, our pet received an IV for fluids and other meds to make her more comfortable, their recommendations were professional and common sense, and we were 100% satisfied. I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic to pet owners
