The Decatur County Jail provides a constitutional environment for the detainment of adults arrested for misdemeanor and felony crimes in Decatur County in Georgia. It also transports persons sentenced to the Georgia Department of Corrections. The jail provides inmate visitation opportunities and maintains inmate funds, including cash and money orders. The Decatur County Jail offers paper, stamps, envelopes and pens for sale. It is a part of the Decatur County Sheriff s Office, which operates investigation, education and victim services departments. The office maintains a K-9 unit that has a dog squad for the detection of narcotics and tracking and apprehension of fugitives.
