Sun Valley Pediatric Dentistry - Avondale

It is unfortunate that so many doctors and dentists are undermined by their staff. Sun Valley pediatric dentistry was our daughters dentist for 2+ years. We had a change of insurance and had a issue with billing. The billing department was very unwilling, and actually rude to both my husband and I on two different occasions. I would not recommend Sun Valley Pediatric to any of my friends. And from reading other reviews online, we are not the only people with these issues! BEWARE!!

Do not go to this dentist! My kids went there in June for their cleaning and then we had another appointment in Jan 2013, they surprised us with a balance due on a PREVENTATIVE CARE VISIT from last visit and then refused to see them bc I couldnt pay the balance that insurance owes them, that is currently being appealed with insurance! They are HORRIBLE people. And they SUCK! Plus they stopped doing friday appointments but left it as an option on their message!

I have been to this office several times. My kids actually like going here. They always love getting their teeth cleaned and getting the tokens at the end to get a prize. The assistants have always been great! I have met both Doctors and they are both very informative and helpful. Although every time I go to this office the staff at the front desk are unprofessional. I have overheard some of their conversations at the desk and they were inappropriate, and I don't feel welcomed when I come into the office. Also the TV in the waiting room is cool but not so great for the kids. Dr. Phil was on and its was talking about drugs and abuse. That wasn't something I wanted my kids to see or hear. The staff seemed interested in it so I didn't bother asking them to change it, so I just told my kids to go play in the play room while they waited. I would rather have cartoons on in the waiting room just because it is a Pediatric Dental office it seems more appropriate for this type of facility. I hope they will be able to change that in the future. But overall the office is good and the jungle theme is great for the kids.

My youngest son was very scared of the dentist. Sun Valley was able to complete his work and my son didn't even know he got shots for his treatment. The staff is friendly and I would recommend this office for your children

Beware of the staff!!!My children's teeth cleaning felt kind of rushed. I was hoping they would have cleaned them a little better. The office manager made me feel like I was bothering her. She is rude, she talked to me as if I was ignorant when I asked for my children's X-Rays to take to a different dentist. (They were extremely overpriced and I felt ripped off.) The office manager, during our conversation said the following, (keep in mind the conversation was typical and professional until this point) .....The dental industry has come a long way since the 1990's, we are now in the 21st century .... I was livid and insulted!First of all, she should never ever feel the need to talk down to me or anyone. It was uncalled for and unprofessional. I am taking my business where it is appreciated and here rude behavior is not tolerated.

I took my kids here a few weeks ago. I was referred by another general Dentist. He only had great things to say about Dr. Carmichael. My children had dental cleanings and my four year old is no too fond of the dentist but to my surprise he LOVED it. The girl who help him was so sweet and took her time with him to make sure he had a positive experience. The Doctor found a few cavities and I was worried he wouldn't do well for for treatment. They recommended him to have a mild sedation to help with his anxiety. We went back and again to my surprise he did GREAT! Now every time we drive past the office he points and says "Look mom there is my dentist." Thanks Sun Valley for taking great care of my three children. PS: they LOVE their new shirts!
