One of my favorite places to come chill out. I like their wings and watching sports on TV while I eat and visit with freinds. Michelle is the best waitress, I've been asking for her for years Colton

Best breakfast tacos - habit forming! They take credit cards now, check out their website. Great food, nice staff, very clean environment. Lunch plates and sandwiches are really good. On Dessau near Rundberg.

So, let me just start by saying- I. LOVE. TACOS. And I have pretty high expectations for said tacos. AND I tend to get a craving for them when most places are shutting down. Well, lo and behold to find that Torchy's is open til 10 on weekdays and 11 on weekends! When I got there, Queen was playing. The guy behind the counter asked me about my day like he genuinely cared. There's Maine Root in the soda fountain. And the food is also fantastic! Since this first experience, I've frequented Torchy's Tacos several times a month. I used to always get the Baja Shrimp and the Fried Avocado tacos. Baja Shrimp is generously filled with hand battered and fried (but not greasy) shrimp, pickled vegetables, queso fresco and lime. There is a great balance of spicy, acidic and cool flavors all wrapped up in the tortilla. The Fried Avocado is a hand battered and fried avocado with refried beans, shredded cheese, lettuce and tomato. I love the texture and creamy flavors of this taco! It is so good, and I never order vegetarian items. But in the past couple years I've rotated in other flavors. The Democrat is filled to bursting with barbacoa. I was really impressed with the quality of it considering that Torchy's isn't exactly Mexican food. It is very flavorful and not greasy at all. You gotta get the Trailer Park "trashy"- fried chicken smothered in green chile queso and pico de gallo. Creative and delicious- this one is a guilty pleasure! I actually got to Green Chile Pork by mistake one time. Although it's not what I ordered, it is pretty dang tasty. The pulled pork is juicy and flavorful and the green chiles- of which I'm not a huge fan- do not overpower anything. But, the customer service at Torchy's is outstanding. I called to let them know my order got mixed up- just to make sure someone else didn't get the taco I ordered and they put me down for a free taco. I really appreciated their customer care! There is a different taco of the month each month that coordinates with holidays or weather, and they are generally pretty great. And lastly, I always ALWAYS get extra Chipotle Sauce and Poblano Sauce no matter which tacos I order. I could drink that stuff!
If I had been allowed to do so, I would have moved into Kerbey Lane Cafe, like a stowaway on an 18th-century ocean voyage, hiding under tables and venturing forth whenever safe to steal whatever I could. As this did not seem a realistic option, what with my job expecting my return on Monday, I did the next best thing...I came to Kerbey Lane for BOTH days of my two-day Austin trip. Why bother going somewhere else when you have already discovered a place that sells $2 mimosas, migas (eggs with many Mexican-y things over tortilla chips), and gluten-free pumpkin French toast? If you answered, "There is absolutely no reason to go anywhere else," then you are absolutely correct. To begin, the mimosas. These were mimosas in only the loosest sense of the word, as they were really full glasses of champagne with a drop of orange food coloring poured on top. I feel I got my $2 worth. Moving onward, the migas. I had never experienced or even heard of migas before Kerbey Lane, but I am confused as to why more places have not yet discovered the brilliance of mixing all the delicious Mexican things with eggs and tortilla chips. Highly recommended. Next, the gluten-free pumpkin French toast. Yum? I can't really say anything else. Worth ordering. A lot. As I went back the next day, I can also speak to the pork tacos, which were as delicious as everything else. The prices were fantastic, the servers were friendly, and if you can somehow get out of doing your job or area already career-less, I highly recommend considering this as your new place of residence.
My boyfriend and I stopped by this place on a whim one night, and we were really glad we did! It's pretty small so you might miss it from the road, but you can't miss the drool-inducing smell of brisket smoking. The restaurant is family owned and operated. The grandma, a spunky and sweet woman, took our orders and made some recommendations while her grandsons worked the cash register and sliced our meat. The place just oozes family warmness and hospitality. The brisket was nice and moist with plenty of self-serve sauce, onions and pickles. We also got an order of ribs. SO good! I mean, I'm a sucker for ribs, but they all had plenty of meat on them and were seasoned just enough to enhance the delicious flavors already present but not mask any of them. I really appreciated that even though we came in pretty close to closing time all of the meat was hot off the smoker. All of the side dishes came in portions bigger than I could eat (yay leftovers!) and the banana pudding was a perfect ending note to the meal. Oh, and endless Dr Pepper from the fountain was a definite plus. I wish there had been a couple more options on the menu and that it was open later, but overall I really liked The Pit. Very reasonable prices, sweet family hospitality and freshly made food were well worth the visit!
I went in for a manicure and pedicure with bunch of girlfriends. I was very lucky but not no girlfriends because their nail techs Tina and Anna were so rude! They insisted that my girlfriends must pay extra for callous remover thing many times. Well, my girlfriends are runners, they need those callous for running... My girlfriends said "NO" about callous and the technicians were speaking in Vietnamese about my girlfriends were cheap and how nasty their feet were. Technicians speaks so little English, one of my friends understands Vietnamese. She translated everything to us... How embarrassing it was. I was lucky because my technician, Annie, she is so conversational and professional. My pedicure and brows wax are excellent. I'll come back ONLY if Annie can work on me. Annie ONLY WORKS by APPOINTMENT. SO call her directly 512-905-6977, visit her at www.shop1022.com for pricing. She does a great job and has good pricing too. Be aware of Tina and Anna! They are out there ripping you off and talk bad about you.
I have eaten here many times and the food quality never fails me. They offer almost 20 choices of sides and even a vegetarian plate. The brisket is always moist and tender regardless of the choice of lean or crown. The sausage has just enough kick to it and it is an old family recipe not store bought. The chicken and St. Louis style Pork ribs are almost fall off the bone tender. The sides are all made fresh daily. Sauce has two choices, the original and the spicy (made with ground chipotle peppers) has just a little bit of zip but it, like the sausage, is not one of those "burn all day" for that you will need to hit the condiment bar and pile on the onions, Pico-de-Gallo, and jalapenos. Oh yes and Texas toast and free refills on a 32 cup on tea, sweet tea and fountain sodas. As a final note, they will cater for parties of 15 or more. Worth the drive but there are 4 in Austin and 1 in Round Rock.
We decided to get out of the Dallas area for the weekend, and what better place to go than Austin. This place is by far one of my all time favorite places to eat. Most fine dining restaurants have a very snooty or stuck up atmosphere where everyone dining pretends to be somene they are not. Jeffrey's is the complete opposite. The place is very inviting, the staff is excellent and always smiling, and the overall vibe and atmosphere is no otehr word but "cool". The food was incredible and our waitress, Metilda, was very knowledgible about each wine pairing and course. We decided to do the 5 course tasting with the wine pairings. The meal was wonderful from start to finish! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience fine dining in an awesome city and an awesome place.
I've been to Wink several times in the past few years and have always had a flawless dining experience. I've been there on dates and with large parties and the wait staff have always provided impeccable service. The food portions are small, but this is a fine dining experience. It's not about volume but about the quality of the food and the care and skill that goes into making it. I love cooking and can completely appreciate what it takes to produce a beautiful yet simple looking dish. The portions aren't huge, but they're perfect. You leave feeling full but not overstuffed. Also, if you're there on a special occasion for someone, you can call the restaurant ahead of time and they'll print out a special commemorative menu for your guest with their name and date on the menu. Very nice touch! :)
A great place to go on a Friday or Saturday night. Went with a big group of ppl a cpl of Saturdays ago and was very pleasently suprised. Upscale bbq? Is there really sucha thing ? Well this sure is and its delicious ! My gf had the whole chicken and I had the Ribs...the way the sides are served is a great idea,.they are family size sides and since we were in a group we got to try about 4 or 5 sides...my fav of which was the 3 chz mac and chz soooo good ! We also had the bacon seasoned collared greens which were out of this world as well as the amazing okra. The waiter was very knowledgable and recommended some great things...even the dessert was great. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something new...if you go be sure to check out the upstairs ! ! I wont give away the suprise !
This place was great. The Riverside location was closer to our wedding venue but we didn't get an answer - The phone rang and rang even after calling 3 times at different times. When we called Montopolis, the staff answered promptly and got Tony the manager right away. He took our order for 300 pieces and 100 biscuits. We had confidence after speaking with him on the phone. Day of the pickup everything was ready when I called ahead. The guests said that the chicken was so good, this made us so happy cause so many other things can go wrong. We had fried chicken and champagne! We put out hot sauce and honey out and the guests loved it! It was elegant and the chicken was the perfect choice! Thank you to Tony and the team at Popeyes on Montopolis for a great job!
Who would have thought that standing in line, peering through floor to ceiling windows, watching others eat what appear to be delicious burgers and fries, would be so fun? Hopdoddy is putting out the best burger in Austin currently, the local craft beer selection is not expansive, but, of high quality (enjoyed in line or sitting down), and the staff is consistently upbeat and positive - a great combination. For those who love a good cheeseburger, Hopdoddy sets the Austin baseline - it's a great bun made onsite, thick juicy patty, and a creatively satisfying, but not overwhelming, taste. The burger can be, at times, too juicy, making the bottom half of your bun turn slightly soggy - yep, it's getting that particular.
