NO food place, dance your ass off place. Went on Thrusday night. Two DJs that switch off every 2-3 songs. It was a good mix. Good crowd. Basic drinks, dive bar. super lit.
My boyfriend and I went to see a movie for our 1 year anniversary- We arrived 1 minute late for our movie (tickets purchased ahead of time) Replie (server) stopped us from walking into the theater and aggressively blocked us from walking through the door. She then directed me to the front lobby. I Spoke to Michael (manager) and he was just as rude and unwilling to help... told me that their policy is to not allow anyone in after the movie has started because of the "expectation that they set for their customers" (I checked on the Alamo Drafthouse website and couldn't find anything about this policy), he said that his servers are trained to be quiet and duck down low... I'm not sure why he assumes we would walk into the theater any other way, but he didn't care to hear what I had to say anyway. The entire staff was rude and unwilling to budge on this ridiculous "policy" - so we left. I felt like I was treated unfairly and I don't believe any paying customer should be spoken to in such a condescending manner. I never plan on returning to Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar. I suggest your staff be better trained on customer service, because the way I was spoken to and treated for trying to attend a movie I had already paid for was absolutely uncalled for. I was able to pull my ticket from the kiosk in the lobby so I should be able to walk into the theater. If your policy is actually as strict as your staff said it was then there should be a safeguard on your kiosks to prevent customers from receiving their tickets and your policies should be clearly listed on your website also!
Randy is awesome he is the owner and will have your fade looking right. Great layed back atmosphere. There will be a line to wait unless you go at opening hours. This is the opposite of Great Clips in Sport Clips old school barber shop.
The Austin Chronicle (November 11, 2014, 11:00a):Putting his money where his mouth is, Korioth even wagered somewhat of a bet, offering up a $10,000 check to any organization the LGBTQ-right group chooses if his business sales increase after the implementation of the rainbow crosswalks – yet if the sales drop, he challenged the gay rights group to answer to the bar’s investors and employers.KXAN (November 12, 2014, 3:40p):“Putting rainbow stripes down on crosswalks on either sides of a block says exclusion to us, not inclusion, and that’s really our basis for opposing this,” said Korioth.Well, which is it, Korioth? Money or justice? Is it you fret that the crosswalks will drive away all your homophobe and “bra” business? Or are you, with a “straight” face, seriously trying to argue that the rainbow is an albatross of exclusion – you know, the same way the religious right argues that the gays are the real bigots? (By the way, here’s a lesson for you: the rainbow flag in the US has a history going back to Thomas Paine and the Revolutionary War.) Austin Eater (November 11, 2014, 12:53p):Most of the businesses on West 4th Street support the move, and former critics like Peche have revised their position. You keep trying to censor my review on Yelp (freedom of speech wanes again in the face of freedom of market), so I am reproducing your public words for the public to see. People should make up their own minds, but at least they should know what it is they are making up their minds about.
Very clean shop, friendly employees, awesome flavors. This is what I come to expect from all future vape shops I visit.
Poor customer service, no communication!. Was told my special order was placed, called for a week, got the run around, called again today and was told order was never placed. Check out Project Vapor, ask for Dylan - great customer service!!
Love this movie theater! This is a great place to see a movie with friends or on a date. My girlfriend and I go here often for the good food and drinks. It's nice being able to eat and drink so good while watching a movie.
I went here one night and thought the place a was pretty cool. Went back the next night and they made me feel like a piece a crap because I got dressed up. Well you know what I'm just too classy for these hicks. I give them a thumbs down for their doublewide trailer trash
Unbelievably cool bar! I went to see what all the fuss was about this place, and being the true skeptic that I am in not wanting to believe the good press I've read I went to see for myself, but once I opened the door it was like being in the movie Casablanca. Low lit with candles and red lighting and this 70+ African American woman playing the hell out of the piano.... Ended up staying all night and now my favorite bar in Austin. You will not regret... There was food but did not try, full bar, live Music that leans towards R&B and Soul with a heavy dose of the blues. I agree with all the fuss, its truly one of a kind in a city full of drones....
I drove 60 miles round trip for poker they had advertised on their website, but they didn't have it as of about two weeks ago. I was told by the manager that I could have called first, as if it was my fault I made the trip for nothing. The manager did comp my meal and the wait staff were very sweet and attentive, otherwise I wouldn't have raised them to two stars. About the food:First thing I noticed was the menu had thick greasy fingerprints all over it. I order the "Barbecue" which was grilled along with Asparagus(was fresh), Chicken, Ribs, and Bacon. Everything that came off the grill had this gritty texture, carbon deposits i think, as if the grill hadn't been cleaned in a long time, almost like a very fine sand had been sprinkled on it. The bacon was soggy and chewy, and asked to have it replaced with some "crispy" bacon, and what I got was bacon that was cooked very fast with a large deposit of the dirty grill residue, kind of burn, but still with chewy fat.The mac and cheese was completely flavorless. When I left, I went next-door to Walmart as fast as I could and got some Alka-Seltzer. The customer service was exemplary, but the website and the foot were completely absent of integrity.
