I drove 60 miles round trip for poker they had advertised on their website, but they didn't have it as of about two weeks ago. I was told by the manager that I could have called first, as if it was my fault I made the trip for nothing. The manager did comp my meal and the wait staff were very sweet and attentive, otherwise I wouldn't have raised them to two stars. About the food:First thing I noticed was the menu had thick greasy fingerprints all over it. I order the "Barbecue" which was grilled along with Asparagus(was fresh), Chicken, Ribs, and Bacon. Everything that came off the grill had this gritty texture, carbon deposits i think, as if the grill hadn't been cleaned in a long time, almost like a very fine sand had been sprinkled on it. The bacon was soggy and chewy, and asked to have it replaced with some "crispy" bacon, and what I got was bacon that was cooked very fast with a large deposit of the dirty grill residue, kind of burn, but still with chewy fat.The mac and cheese was completely flavorless. When I left, I went next-door to Walmart as fast as I could and got some Alka-Seltzer. The customer service was exemplary, but the website and the foot were completely absent of integrity.
Wow!! Spec's really is like a candy store for grown ups. They have a large selection of wines and spirits, reasonable prices, a deli with delicious sandwiches, a large store, 5% discount if you pay with cash or debit card. I love this place.
Had a surface ablation in March 2017 to correct a vision problem. First saw Dr. Walters who did the surgery. Would describe him as kind, courteous and up front with answering all my questions. No complaints. Have been seeing Dr. Sylvian Ung for my post op/follow up checks and have been most impressed with her. I have been an RN for nearly 40 years and have seen many, many doctors over the years and observed their interaction with their patients. I must say that Dr. Ung really is exceptional with her communication skills. She greets me in the waiting room with a handshake and escorts me to the exam room. She makes eye contact when speaking to me, and takes time to ask about me and my family. She may be in a hurry that day, but you will never know it. Dr. Ung takes her time to truly listen to what I have to say about any concerns I might have. She also explains things very thoroughly. I could go on, but you get the idea. Great job, Dr. Ung and keep up the good work!
If you're looking for a trusted adviser when it comes to your vision, Dr. Miller is a solid choice. Based solely on a recommendation from a friend who is in a related vision services field, I began seeing Dr. Miller several years ago. With much of life, you get out of it what you put into it, and during my first visit with Dr. Miller, we spent a relatively decent amount of time discussing various aspects of vision, and that conversation has laid the groundwork for a very pleasant and ongoing relationship ever since. While their optometry department carries the latest and greatest, pricing is a bit steep (granted, it's essentially all high end "labels"). To that end, it's hard to argue with the Warby Parker model, but the convenience Northwest Hills Eye Care offers, and the service that Joe provides, is equally hard to argue with.Don't forget to grab a piece of candy on the way out :)
I went to North Austin Optical based on the strength of the reviews. The reviews were accurate! I have bifocals, a very strong prescription, and am picky about how my frames fit. I have never received better customer service or better lenses in Austin (or anywhere else). North Austin Optical has a great selection of quality frames (lots of the frames are made in Italy) and Myron was helpful in selecting ones that looked good on me. Due to a strong prescription I need high-index lenses with anti-reflection coating. The cost at North Austin Optical was in line with other shops and several hundred dollars cheaper than the highest priced shops in town. I recommend North Austin Optical to anyone needing glasses - Myron is an experienced and skilled professional who provides excellent customer service.
My wife and I are current patients of Dr. Wollan; but, have been patients of Dr. Pierce and Dr. Dai as well. Dr. Dai and I were "classmates" at Rice, "44" years apart. Although I have "given up" on cosmetic surgery, I rely on EPA for control of glaucoma, bullous keratopathy and other eye maladies. "The wife" (an East Texas term of endearment) and I love "Sandy", Laura, Shayla, Christinia and Susie and other support personnel. I have one "recommendation". When I was in the "law bidness", if I received a pejorative "review", I immediately erased, and refused to "post" it. I also have a prediction: "The Patriots by "3"; but, only if the "equipment managers's" eyes aren't dilated!"EPA"--"Zum Wohl", Er Lebe Hoch!!Joe S. and "M.A." 1-28-2015
Unbelievably cool bar! I went to see what all the fuss was about this place, and being the true skeptic that I am in not wanting to believe the good press I've read I went to see for myself, but once I opened the door it was like being in the movie Casablanca. Low lit with candles and red lighting and this 70+ African American woman playing the hell out of the piano.... Ended up staying all night and now my favorite bar in Austin. You will not regret... There was food but did not try, full bar, live Music that leans towards R&B and Soul with a heavy dose of the blues. I agree with all the fuss, its truly one of a kind in a city full of drones....
I had laser cateract surgery on my right eye on Jan 21st and it seems to have been a great success. Dr Pierce and his team couldn't be more professional or more considerate and compassionate. I will be having the right eye done on Feb 4th and look forward to much better vision than I've had the past year. After 60 years of wearing contact lenses, it seems strange, but wonderful, to not put them in each morning. Many thanks to all concerned.
I was more than happy with Dr. George Thorne, Jr. when he performed my cataract surgery. Yes, they were in the middle of their construction project and yes, the wait could be long. However, growing up with a mother who was losing her vision to RP, I know how important eyes and vision are to a person. I felt it was more important to trust my surgeon and his staff than worry about the time I spent waiting.
This place is great.....I live in circle c and this place is so close to my home. They have a such a great selection of my light calorie cocktails which is very hard to find. The staff is so knowledgable about liquor which is so impressive. I dislike going to those huge liquor places where you can never find help....V & V Liquor has definetly got my business from now on....highly recommend going!!!
Had problems for several years trying to explain my sight complications. For the most part my vision was good while being tested but always, during the day, through tiredness and overuse my sight would be very unclear, fuzzy images and just unusable. Austin Eye discovered I needed cataract repair. Finally I found a group to solve my problem and now I see better than 60 years ago!
