I rented a car nearly two months in advance. My flight was two hours late and when I arrived at Advantage, I was told my rental had been canceled but that they would offer me another car at $30 more per day. This was a classic bait and switch. I have rented cars from many other companies that when I called to let them know I was late, said I didn't need to call since reputable car companies give renters a long grace period. Obviously Advantage is not reputable nor reliable. When I asked to speak with a supervisor the gal behind the counter threatened to call security on me! Then went and hid in the office.
I rent frequently for work travel across Texas. As with most Enterprise locations (and rental companies in general), you usually have to wait in line, it seems like there's never enough staff to get you to your car right as you walk in. I only had to wait for about 5 minutes though. I had a very pleasant experience. The only other downside to this location is that the cars are stacked in lanes (since it's housed in the bottom level of a parking deck, they have limited space) so the car at the front of the line usually seems to be the one you get for you respective class. The past few cars that I've gotten have been my favorites (Brand new Mazda 3 and brand new Nissan Maxima) but I could see where this could be a problem if you didn't want the car at the front of the lane.Overall, the staff is always friendly here, the cars seems to be newer with lower milage, and the service is usually prompt. I've only had to wait for extended periods a few times.
The van was 400.00 dollars for 4 days. Could not return on Sunday as the shop closed at 2pm on Saturday. The van was not clean or freshly washed or vacuumed. Shoe polish and filthy on the windows. Used pack of cigarettes my Son found in the back seat area. Bad experience over all.
Was quoted a 5-day rental rate of 330.00 when I made my travel reservation via my corporate travel agency. Flight out was canceled 3 times and the travel agency changed my 5 day rental to a 4 day rental. National took that opportunity to double my rental rate - for fewer days - and bill me a total of $664.00. Upon questioning this on the phone, I was told they could do nothing because that's their policy. My policy is to never rent from them again.
I was sent to this location by an insurance company after I was rear-ended by an insured driver. The insurance company would pay $21/day for a rental. When I got to the store, I was asked what type of car I drove and where I worked. I was then told that they didn't have any rentals that fit the budget that the insurance company would pay. BUT-- I could pay $30/day extra to get a much nicer rental - similar to what I was driving. I declined and I was told that they didn't have anything in stock that fit that insurance budget. I said I was not paying any more since I made the reservation 2 weeks prior. I was then told they could 'set me up' in another car for $10/day more--which was all they had available. I declined again. Finally, they decided that they DID have a car available and would 'discount' it to meet the insurance payment of $21/day. I was totally profiled by these people and lied to. I will NOT do business with them again. Be warned-- don't give them any info they don't need and be prepared to have them try to get more $$ out of you! Terrible business ethics.
We travel to Austin several times each year. Always use National for car rental. They never fail to provide fast service, nice clean cars, and love that we can choose the car we want.
