I've been in contact with the Austin office over a manufacturing defect in windows Builders FirstSource installed in our Taylor Morrison home. Two of our windows have a multitude of clear finger and hand prints INSIDE the two panes of glass. As this is clearly a manufacturing defect, we were hoping the company would stand by their product and replace them with windows that are not so egregiously defective. However, they keep deflecting responsibility by saying that we are not the original owners, and they won't honor a warranty on the windows, despite that the house is only seven years old, and the warranty is supposed to apply for ten--and that the company installed what were clearly defective windows from the start. I understand the normal warranty policy, but I want to clarify the issue here: This isn't a problem of normal wear or of weathering. We do have one window that's "blown," and we are planning to replace that at our own cost. But with the two windows in question, Builders FirstSource manufactured a very clearly defective product, and despite that they couldn't have missed these defects, then installed this very clearly defective product. Regardless of whether the original homeowner complained about this issue, we are extremely concerned about the fact that substandard materials were installed by the company in this house. We sent pictures so they could see this isn't a minor issue--these are very visible hand and fingerprints embedded between the panes of glass. There is literally no other way this could have happened than negligence on the part of Builders First in both manufacture and installation, and we would like them to correct this negligence, but they keep simply abnegating any responsibility.
Hope Lumber was a subcontractor for my new condominium complex and installed hardware and door knobs. My door knobs began falling off in a matter of months. Because I was still under warranty, I called the phone number listed in order to have the problem corrected. The company had changed phone…

As an owner of a small custom home design/build company I am constantly in need of exotic or hard to locate materials. I have used U S Lumber Brokers for everything from the unique materials incorporated in our decks, gazebos, pool house and various other highly customized outside living spaces to exotic woods for exterior finishes and beautiful hardwood floors. There is nothing that I have needed that this company hasn't been able to locate and get to me promptly for a reasonable price. But don't be fooled by the name. They will help you with small projects as well. Their focus is exotic south American hardwoods, but this company was able to locate for me and ship 1/4" finish grade maple plywood with a documented proof of a Class "C" fire rating to the job in just under 10 days from the initial call. They even went so far as to have an outside lab test and presented to the local fire marshal. They are friendly and very professional. This company will go out of its way to try to find whatever it is you desire.
Ben over at US Lumber Brokers is THE Best source for exotic hardwoods around Central Texas, he will make your project affordable and the customer service is second to none. I whole heartedly recommend them.
