I went to get my bottom lip pierced from the lady TIna at Ressurrection Tattoos. I called several places looking for a good price. Everyone was above $55 dollars except for Ressurrection Tattoos. They only charged $30. I found out why they are so much cheaper. I had called before I went in. Tina was very short and seemed rude and not very informative or she just didnt care. I showed up and sat in the front very visible it took her at least 10 min to even aknowledge the fact that i was there. I asked why they were so much cheaper the Male (I think he was the owner) said because of the jewelry then he started to mumble and trailed off pretending to have been preoccupied. I went in the back with Tina and she was very shaky and nervous either she didnt know what she was doing (which in this case shoud not have been aloud to pierce until properly trained). Or she was under the influence There was also guy smoking inside the shop while I was there. She had dropped the jewelry on the floor so the needle and clip was hanging from my lip while she was scrounging on the ground she found it and was gonna try to use it again! She saw the look on my face and said ill get a new one. She got it through and it took her a good 15 minutes to get the ball on she kept shaking and it was twisting my lip which after all of this was hurting pretty bad. She gave me no care insrtuctions didnt hardly say 5 words to me. the whole time- I went to another shop and asked the guy to look at it he told me she had pierced it wrong and it was in an angle thats why the metal was cutting through my lip.
I have gotten all my tattoos and piercings at Ressurection Tattoos. They price much cheeper, they quote you on your tatt, they dont charge by the hour. I got a solid tribal design on my back, a 4 1/2 hour job done for $250! That was my first tattoo and after that i have had the same guy, Roger, do all of mine: my back, both arms half sleeved and even a free one on my calf. They are very friendly and cool and most reasonable and provide great advice and feedback and touchups are always free! Piercings are much cheeper too, I have had 9 piercings from them. They have really grown since the last time I was there and for good reason. With them there is no need to worry about the cold shoulder or rudeness.

Two years ago, I found Annie Mess and she's been nothing less than exceptional! I travel from Houston and everytime she adds onto my back piece, I'm amazed. She always listens to my ideas and in return communicates them clearly in her renderings. I'm completely in love with my tattoos and have Annie to thank!!

Annie @ Resurrection
SHe is one of the most creative and imaginative artists I know.
I have several tatttoos from her and will be getting many more.
I always go in with an idea of what I want then Annie ads her ideas and the outcome is
more than I expected. Her colors are great and yes I get compliments all the time.
Thanks Annie you are so talented!
I have had several other ""artists"" tattoo me, but Annie is by far the very best. I had her do a piece about three years ago and was so impressed with the bright colors and shading that I went back again... and again. She has now done three pieces, one very large, on me. She also knows how to cover up very well! The colors are always brilliant, her design is wonderful, and her creativity really makes the pieces beautiful. The one thing about Annie that definitely stands out to me above everything else is her shading-- she doesn't just tattoo, it's like she is drawing. I get compliments on my tattoos constantly and anyone I know that asks where to get a tattoo I send to Annie.
I drove from Orange Texas just to let Annie do a black and grey cover up of two screwed up wings with a full arm piece of St. Michael slaying demons. That is my favorite tattoo I have because she did it from scratch with a sharpie, then went to work. It is also the one I get the most compliments on on both of my quarter sleeves. Thank you Annie for working with me and doing such a fantastic job.
Let me start by saying that I had a small tattoo on my back so I was aware of how getting a tattoo felt. Well, touchee because Annie Mess has an extrememly light hand and each sitting was a painless joy. First off, her creativity is amazing. I went in with an idea for a quarter sleeve with the center piece being the foot of mercury. Annie neede a few days to come up with an idea and then promptly called me to have me come in for the first sitting. When i got there I was a bit nervous but with the mix of super nice people and great music I was fine. Annie's design was amazing and I loved everything about it. The rest of the sleeve she had decided to free hand on with a sharpy after she put the center piece down. And away we went. I ended up sitting 4 times i believe for 3 to 4 hours each time. Now that it is finished I am in love with my tattoo and Annie. The colors are super bright and it looks like a painting, a tattoo with feeling. Annie is outstanding and super caring. To be honest I was pretty sad when she finished it because that meant no mas visits. Our visits were very cathartic for me; not only was I getting a tattoo that really meant something to me, but my talks with Annie were great. She is so cool, and sweet; not to mention hilarious. So basically, I have already come up with another idea and am saving money in my piggy bank to go back. Let me add that it was worth every penny. This is quality artistic work and you should expect to pay for what you want. I mean this is her job and profession. What would you expect, this isn't the corner tattoo shop in Juarez. I would recommend Annie Mess to anyone. In fact I have already...thanks Annie, I love my tattoo!
I've been tattooed by about 20 different artists in Austin, and once I got one from Annie I haven't gone anywhere else. She's extremely communicative and easy to work with, she has a light touch and does brilliant work. Her prices are a little high, but good tattoos aren't cheap (and cheap tattoos aren't good).
