Was the first to pre-purchase my tickets on Fandango for opening night of Dr. Strange. When I arrive the first shift manager Alex Haugen informs me that they had to move my seating. The new location was less desirable than my original purchase. When I asked how they were going to make it right, they said they could do nothing. I had to prompt them for a concession stand free soda as compensation and they rejected that as well. To make matters worse when we walked into the theater to watch the movie, my original location was unoccupied the whole time. I informed the evening manager Cody about the event and he was equally unimpressive in his customer service skills. THey were quick to blame their General Manager Ann Osche, but they were equally quick to give me an customer complaint number which sends you to que. There are many theaters to use in the local area. Highly recommend avoiding this one. Their customer service is the worst.
Central Market is always my go to store for picking up a quick dinner. Their ready made items are always great; I really love the Chicken Tortilla soup. However, I don't get all of my regular grocery items there, I can find those cheaper at other places.

Provided by Citysearch -I really like this theater being in south Austin. You walk in, and everything is where it should be. The sound systems offer a beautiful range of sound. The seats tilt a bit. I like it. This is my first time message, so I'm a little unsure of what to say. The theater brings in business to Hyde Park Bar and Grill Westgate and Amy's Ice Cream. Even Whole Foods gets the buzz. Only negative is the restroom, they were a little unkempt even with the brand new excelsior hand dryer. I think the Westgate theater is in a good spot and puts on a great show.
Beautiful store!! A great selection of unusual produce items that are priced somewhat better than Whole Foods. I enjoy looking through the natural soaps and body products also.

Provided by Citysearch -Westgate has perfectly fine theaters. They are standard theaters, and as good as theaters in general across the country. If you are really pciky about ALL aspects of theater going, then just wait for P.mount to show more films or hit alamo locations. Personally, I don't really prefer stadium seating to regular theater seating. I have no problems when I go to a Westagate theater. The sound and picture are fine. As for prices, the last reviewer is WRONG. Just as the previous person wrote, prices at Westgate are ""a little less"" than other theaters in Austin, but really only for the matinees. Most theaters charge $6.00 for matinees, which is ridiculous.

Provided by Citysearch -Not sure where the previous reviewer went to. But the Westgate is only a good theatre on the left three theatres. The eight theatres on the right are a joke in a modern theatre. They have poor presentations and small screens. Prices here are not low. Regal has the highest prices in all of their Austin area theatres.

Provided by Citysearch -This is one of the nicest theaters in Austin and tends to be a bit cheaper than most. There is a good atmosphere, theaters are always clean, decent sound, decent picture and comfortable seating. Even the largest auditorium seems a little average in size, but all screens are kept up well and functioning properly. Again, the sound and picture are only decent, but leaps and bounds ahead of most theaters in Austin lately! The picture is smooth and clean, the sound is sharp and clear with a good amount of base.

Provided by Citysearch -Westgate shows some of the best films....like the Arbor used to do :-(. The audio/visual is decent...not the greatest, but good. Theaters are clean and comfortable enough to watch a long movie. The theaters are smaller than the large movie houses which adds nicely to the atmosphere- cozy.

Provided by Citysearch -Westgate 11 is a superior movie theater in its seats, screens, sound, location, cleanliness, ease of parking, and my favorite addition a clock in the lobby. Look around to other movie theaters and you will notice none of them provide a clock to let you know if you have time to stand in line (they do have those) for a coke or if you better go get a seat now.
