Noel (from repairs department) is a great asset to your company. Other guys from that department either seem uninterested in helping or do not know how to fix things (cameras, lenses, etc). Noel is the only guy I talk to now!

INCOMPETENCE

I had a professional video camera to get fixed (Panasonic HVX200). I signed up online to have Precision Camera send me a box and shipping label to send in my camera. About 4 days later, I got my box......It was not much bigger than a shoebox!...I needed a box twice the size in order to ship it...I figure since they are a camera repair shop, they would send the appropriate size box based on my online order form....not the case. So I called an the woman said they would send me a new box. Another 5 days later I got my box......IT WAS THE SAME SIZE BOX!...didn't work last time...still
doesn't. So I called again, this time I got a pip squeak college kid on the phone....I asked him why if I complained about the small box the first time, they would send me another of the same size. I made it a point to give him the dimensions of the camera over the phone so they would get it right this time. Over a week later I called because I had not gotten my box in the mail. The same jerk on the phone said "" Oh I forgot to call you, they said we only have one size box, you would have to send in the camera in your own box"". So after three weeks, I still have my camera and I need to find another shop to send it to. I could have had my camera fixed and back by now, but Precision Camera obviously doesn't know the first thing about doing business with competence. Don't listen to all the other fake positive reviews....STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU LIKE THE RUNAROUND.

Awesome Place

On my bucket list was getting a Nikon D7000. I am an amateur photographer and how lucky was I to go to Precision to get it. The young lady who helped me took as much time as I needed to understand what I was buying. She gave me tips on accessories and was so professional and helpful. They even offered a free class to further explain some of the camera features. I would never go anywhere else. These folks are truly knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks

WOW! Their customer service is terrible!

Called to get some pricing and turn around time on printing 12x12 photos. First, I was put on hold FOREVER for the photo lab, then when some girl (who wasn't with the photo lab) finally picked up the phone she knew NOTHING about what specific sizes they offered, nor how much they would cost. Then when she was finally able to track down the prices, she totally misquoted them. Since I didn't trust her, I went and searched through the website and low and behold the prices she gave me were totally off! On top of that, she was annoyed that I was asking her simple questions about their product. Word of advice- if you don't like answering simple questions about the store you work for, DON'T PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE!

No longer a fan due to poor customer service.

I really try to support local businesses, but Precision Camera has let me down again and again. Last time, scheduled to shoot a wedding, and promised service date on my Nikon equipment was late. Today, I retrieved 3 of my Leica lenses that they had for over 12 weeks - and never serviced (quoted 4-6 weeks). Got the run-around two weeks ago trying to follow up. If that is their idea of service, I will go elsewhere. Buying online is cheaper anyway. Your mileage may vary, but I am done with this place.

Patient with me

Over the last many months I had been on the phone many times with Eric and had even come into the shop a couple of times. I was very insecure about all this and was afraid that I would get some information wrong. He was so patient with me and always very kind and helpful and reassured me that all would be well and done as I/we, the committe, hoped for.

Another Austin gem!

Walked in with trepidation, because my lowly camera (bought elsewhere) had taken a tumble and was ready to be recycled. Dreaded the expense of buying another one so very soon. Brian (sp?) at the repair/rental section looked it over, twisted the lens and voila! All was well. No charge. In and out within 5 minutes. Customer service exactly as it was meant to be. Is this place for real? Another Austin gem!
