Performance Bicycle Shop

I wouldn't normally write a bad review unless it was an absolutely awful experience. Here is what happened. I recently purchased a bike and built it up. I needed brake lever clamps and some brackets to attach my brakes. I walked in to the store and went to the mechanic area. There was one mechanic working and which didn't acknowledge me for the first 5 minutes. I understanding how frustrating it is to constantly be interrupted when trying to work on a bike waited. After about 10 minutes I asked for some assistance. She gruffly came over and asked what I wanted. I proceeded to explain that what I needed. She said she didn’t know what I was talking about and had to go get someone. 10 minutes later a guy showed up. I once again explained I needed brackets for the brake calipers. He went got a box of un-organized brackets and dropped it on the counter and walked off. Neither one of them were any help what so ever. I then went and put my bike in my car and asked to talk to the manager. Turns out the guy was the manager. I asked him why he just left me high and dry and he said it was because they were busy and short staffed. I will never come back to this store again and will encourage everyone I know in the cycling industry and community not too as well. There are bike shops in Austin that actually care about their customers. If I was the owner of this shop I would not be happy with how they treat customers. Especially re-peat ones. Way to go performance.

Every time I've been to this location, I've gotten exceptional service. The guys there are always helpful and don't talk down to me like they're cooler than me.



A couple of days ago, I went in there because I couldn't get my bike computer to work right, my cleats mounted onto my new tri bike shoes, and my rear tire changed because I can't do it without popping a new tube. Since I bought these items from them (I'm assuming), they did all of the service stuff for free for me. What kind of great service is that!? They didn't nickel and dime me and were super nice! :)
