Overall
Glad I found her - just the right balance.

I was surprised to see that there were no reviews for Dr. V. but I think she did not start her career here and is not as well known.as some of the other docs in town - I have seen quite a few and by far she is the best. Don't let her typing bother you.. She looks right at you and can type super fast - the end result is that she and Vickie her office manager are super efficient. She is compassionate but yet professional and I can talk to her about pretty much anything. She knows her meds, will prescribe them when called for, but doesn't pass them out like candy.
Here is the good part: She also practices functional medicine, which is not commonly
dne by a psychiatrist, Functional medicine is not well known but it incorporates information about nutrition and chemical levels in your body along with traditional medicine to find ways to treat your illness (not just your symptons). None of that is forced on you, - the choice is up to you but she has offered remedies for sleep that do not involve Ambien or Lunesta, which have side effect that are really frightening.
I'll stop preaching now, but did I tell you that he office is so efficient, I find that she charges less than other psychiatrists in town.
If you choose the functional med. she does cost more, because it is very time consuming and comprehensive. She is worth seeing - she may not be the perfect doctor for you but after seeing several docs, and investing a lot of $$ into mental health care, she is refreshing
