I never had a bad burger at Huts! My favorite is the Wolfman Jack Burger, green chiles, jack cheese, a little sour cream and crispy bacon. OMG! FANTASTIC :) the service is great, the 1/2 fries & 1/2 onion rings are also a favorite to share. I highly recommend it!

Yeah, I went there! Heard all about it! All I ever heard was, ""Oh, the burgers are so great!"" or read articles that say, ""Oh, the burgers are so great!"" Even homeless guys would say,""Oh, the burger scraps are so great!"" I got sick of hearing about it so what do I do? I go there by way of bicycle because I'm a smart guy and all the smart ones know that it's quicker to ride a bike in traffic than drive a stupid gas guzzlin' car. Plus, when you go alone you don't have to spend your hard earned money on some tramped up gold digger. But mostly, I just simply look real cool on my bike. I got an auro around me that just screams Austinite, it's so way cool! Anyways, I pull up on my bike and lock it up and tell this homeless guy to stay away from it and go inside to order. There was nothing special about ordering. I got a waiter, not a waitress so I can't say my server was hot. Nice enough though. (maybe next time I go) So, I order a.... you guessed it, a burger with fries. They must have messed up the order because they gave me too much and I ate it all, except for a small bit of fries. It was really good I have to say. I've eaten burgers from here to Seoul Korea and these were the best by far. Unless you like Kimchee on your burger more than you like lettuce and tomato. Anyways, I left there happy, and stuffed. The homeless guy was still there ogling my cool bike and asked for some change but I just threw him a few fries. I proceded down S. Lamar and noticed some little kids, a boy and a girl in a car pointing and laughing at me from the safety of their locked vehicle. I looked down to see what they were pointing at and I noticed a small ponch of a gut hangin' out cause they gave me so much food. I know kids their age that will do my dirty work. I will never forget their faces. Oh, I would definitely recommend eating there, it's so choice.

The food is great and the small yet cozy atmosphere is inviting. The restaurant is usually packed but a short wait shouldn't deter anyone from hanging around. There was a comment about bad service and admittedly, Management noticed they have a couple ""bad apples"" and immediately replaced a couple of their staff. I for one, can appreciate a Management team that listens to its customers. I'm going back tomorrow!

I'm not sure what happened to the couple of people who gave bad reviews but we went to Hut's last week after about the dozenth time someone say it's the best. That was no lie. We sat at the bar and asked our waiter what his favorites were. He rattled off 3 numbers and we chose a number 7 to share. A bacon cheeseburger with LTO. We love buffalo meat so chose that for the meat. It was by far the best burger we've ever had. We are both retired chefs and have tried tons of food all over the world. Funny, the reason we were in town was to have what was supposed to be the best Italian food you can get outside of Italy, according to reviews. Not going to say exactly but it starts with a V and is on SoCo. We spent $100 and got the food to go-for our dogs. Then headed to Hut's for perfection. Staff was a lot of fun as well and had a cool talk with a guy at the counter who eats at Hut's everytime he is in town on business.

My family and I have been to Hut's Hamburgers on numerous occasions and it's always been great. If at any time I received a burger or fries that I wasn't completey satisfied with they have always been very accomadating in getting me a fresh burger or fries to my satisfaction. Their meat is fresh, their fries and onion rings are freshly prepared and the staff is always friendly and accomadting. Great Job Hut's!!

Huts might have been a good place back in the day but it's lived on reputation too long and as a result I almost get the feeling the customers are a burden.
The staff was rude the food awful, thin and dry burgers, nasty cold fries and the restaurant was filthy.
There way better places, don't even bother

I was disappointed in my visit to Hut's Hamburgers Wednesday night 14 July 2010. I was looking forward to the treat having read so many favorable online reviews in advance. Well, I can honestly say McDonald's prepares and delivers a better hamburger. My experience at Hut's clearly did not meet my expectations. Will I make a return visit in the future? No way, thank you very much.

I'm a huge fan of Frank and Angies, having eaten there for three years because I work downtown. I went to Huts for lunch as a change in pace and I knew they were owned by the same people. I had the Alan Freed burger and these guys know how to do it right! Their homemade hickory sauce it wonderful. I would suggest making this stop for lunch :)

Went to Hut's with co-workers. I like my burgers simple: no sauces, with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. This means I'm at odds with most people in Austin (but not Ft. Worth). I ordered a double burger and a side of fries and rings. The burger was good (but not great). The fries were burnt, as most places in Austin haven't figured out how to cook fresh cut fries without burning them. Onion rings were nothing to write home about.

I have always ordered a hamburger, but yesterday felt like a chicken fried steak. They brought out the plate and it looked like a child's plate. I thought I might have accidentally ordered the child's portion as the chicken fried steak was about the same size and shape as a hamburger patty, just chicken fried. I couldn't believe it since this is Austin Texas and so many restaurants have very large chicken fried steaks. If you want to see waht a real chicken fried steak looks like, go to the City Cafe in Elgin, or to Nutty Brown in Dripping, but don't order it here. Stick to their hamburgers and fries. Huts's should be ashamed to even put it on the menu.

We ordered the All American (regular burger; no gimmick sauces or anything). The burger was just average; only a little better than a Sonic burger, but 3x as pricey.
The meat was grassfed beef, but did not have much flavor. Small machine pressed patty. The bun was nothing special, and the toppings were old. Our salad was wilted, and the water was bad. Only Pro was good service and choice of beef.
