Grayson Moore, M.D. sees patients at Legacy Bone and Joint Orthopedics in Dripping Springs and Bee Caves in Austin, Texas. Moore, whose parents are both physicians, was raised in Austin. “After watching both my parents, I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue a medical career,” he said. Moore earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005 and a medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2009. After one year of general surgery residency in San Antonio, he completed an orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston in 2015. During this time, Moore rotated through the renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Orthopedic Hospital in Houston where he learned complex joint reconstruction techniques. His research on total joint infections has been presented at multiple conferences, was recognized with UTMB’s Lockhart Award for best resident research, and was published in Current Orthopaedic Practice in 2015. “I have enjoyed returning to the hill country and serving the community where I grew up,” he said. Moore has volunteered with Operation Rainbow to perform free orthopedic surgery for children and young adults who lack access to adequate medical care in Central America. He is also a member of the Justin Sports Medicine Team, taking care of injured cowboys and rodeo participants, and he works with local high school teams to treat their sports injuries. He and his wife have three children. As a former athlete, he loves being active with his family. He also enjoys hunting, camping, scuba diving, boating, writing music and playing guitar.
