It truly makes me sad to post this review. I am currently transitioning from relaxed to natural hair. Everyone had been talking about these Dominican Blowouts to help with transitioning, so I decided to give it a try. As far as I know, this salon is the only one in Austin that specializes in these blowouts. I went to Marlin and loved my hair when she was done. It was beautiful & looked absolutely amazing. However, things soon changed leaving me with bitter disappointment & frustration. The 2nd time I went to Marlin, she was running 2 hours late. This was a major inconvenience, since I was coming on my lunch break. I just used PTO to make up the time and decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and let that on slide. After leaving my visit, I scheduled a 3rd appointment 2 wks out to have my hair blown out again. I received a call from Marlin literally the morning of my appointment saying that she would have to take me later, because she had to make room to squeeze in another client. I was so angry & frustrated because again- I had scheduled this appointment around my work schedule. My hair was getting frizzy and I desperately needed a blow out so I just agreed and accepted her apology. She guaranteed me that noting like this would ever happen again. The last straw was when I made another appointment 2 weeks in advance (On a Saturday this time). I was heading to New York for New Years to watch the ball drop. My appointment was scheduled so my hair could look nice and be manageable while traveling to Time Square. I wanted everything to be perfect. 3 days before my trip, Marlin texted me saying she could not see me until a week later because she had decided to take a trip to Alaska. I was furious!!! She left me royally screwed!!! My hair was a mess and I had absolutely know clue what I would do. I don't think I have ever been so disappointed and let done by a hairdresser. Luckily, my old hairdresser squeezed in room for me & did a sew-in. From thereon, I have been using sew-ins to transition. I would NEVER recommend such an unreliable & irresponsible hairdresser to anyone!!! To seal the deal, I called the owner in an attempt to report Marlin's incompetence & was told that she would call me back. 1 week later.... NO CALL. I made 2 other attempts and heard nothing. It has been over a month and the owner still has not called me back. This place is a joke & a disgrace. Please think before you come here. This is simply unacceptable & a lack of professionalism to the fullest extent!!!

I called yesterday morning to schedule an appointment for early this morning. They had nothing available so I asked if they could call me if they had a cancellation. They called. The salon was easy to find. The lady who checked me in was professional and polite. The premises could use a facelift. Nothing a handyman can't handle. The owners probably dont notice the peeling paint and cracks in the drywall or dull tiles, but new clients do, esp if you call yourself a spa. The client bathroom near the front reception definitely needs some upgrading. It looks nothing like a restroom in a spa.

I met Bonnie who was prompt, friendly, professional and nothing short of Amazing! That girl knows her stuff and she did an awesome job for me. I told her what I liked, what I didn't like and what I need. She listened and hit the ball out the park! I am so impressed! My color is beautiful and my cut is Exactly what I asked for. My hair looks and feels like it had a major conditioning treatment, and all she did was color and cut. It is shiny, soft and light. It looks like a million bucks for just under $100. I love it! Thank you Bonnie. See you in a few months. You now have an International client! I will hold off until i come back Stateside for my next cut. I sure wish I had found this place sooner! My girlfriends and I wanted to treat ourselves to something special and decided that a day at the spa was what we needed. I'd heard from another friend that there were great spas in Austin, and after researching online for a few places to visit, Gabrielle's was recommended by a family member who lives in the area. From the time we walked in until the time we left, the staff at Gabrielle's treated us like royalty! There were 5 of us, so we chose the spa party package. We had a variety of services, including manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, and hair styling. Our package included fresh fruit and drinks for breakfast, a delicious lunch, and cupcakes for the birthday girl. If you ever find yourself wondering what happened to good customer service, it's at Gabrielle's Salon and Spa! I can't say enough what a relaxing and refreshing experience it was. Lylanda, Melissa, Sue, Susanna, Jessica and Jackie - you all are awesome!

I looked up this salon on a couple of websites and heard nothing but praise so I gave it a try. Im so happy I took a chance because I have the BEST stylist ever. Her name is Lylanda and she is AWESOME! She is extremely nice, attentive, and professional. The prices are fair and I never have to wait to have my hair done. She is also great about working around my schedule so Im in and out in no time!!! This salon definately deserves a A+++

This is the best salon I have ever been too!!! The environment is great!! Everyone is so friendly and Lylanda well what can I say!! She is the best stylist ever!! I was nervous when my , then boyfriend now husband, asked me to cut my hair short, even though I always wore it pulled back anyway! Lylanda not only gave me an amazing cut, but I also returned to have it colored!! That was almost 2 years ago and I am a faithful client!! I don't go a week without someone complimenting my hair or asking me where I get it done at!!!!

I can't beleive I am the first person to write a review about this place!! It is an amazing one stop shop for all your beauty needs. Not only do they offer extensive hair services (included malyasian extentions!) they also have a huge barber shop, nail station, and full service spa area! I have gotten their "spa sampler" package a couple of times, and it's always been an awesome experience. The massage therapists is really thorough and my skin felt sssooooooooooo good after the facial! I seriously go to Gabrielle's for every thing from head to toe!!
