I received sub-par and distressing service from a technician who would only identify himself as ""Five."" He overcharged me, clearly had no idea what he was doing, and to make matters worse, he entered my house without knocking! The service was completely outside, so he had no reason to enter my house. Fortunately I have a very protective dog who would not let him get very far.
The company still has not responded to my concerns.
If you're a woman, keep your doors locked if this company is around!
I am a contractor and I sub-contracted Clarke Kent Plumbing to help me do a City of Austin sewer connection. I hired them and they did what I hired them to do, but when a neighbor came over to see about doing their sewer connection as well. Clarke Kent employees told the neighbor that they were doing the job from start to finish, and then gave them a bid on their project. When I came back to the job the next day to cover up, the neighbor asked me what I was doing and I told them I was hired to connect the sewer and they then told me what happened the day before. I was astonished that a company that I hired would try to undercut me and gave no remorse or apology when I called them on it. I got the neighbor's job anyways and hired another plumber to assist. In our business you just don't do that, so therefore I will never hire them again!!!!! Beware if you are a contractor.

I needed to create a T connection to my main water line, but unfortunately had to use a special type of PVC pipe. So I called them because they're one of the few companies around that still carry these parts. I told them exactly what parts needed to be put in and the exact work needed to be done. The guy showed up 3 hours late, and without any of the necessary parts I specifically explained over the phone (it's a simple T connection!). So they had to have somebody else grab the parts and deliver them while this guy waited in his van outside my house. After receiving the parts, it took all of 5 minutes to put in the connection and test it out. I ended being billed for 30 minutes of work, $50 for them using a wrench, and 2-3 times the actual cost of parts. I asked the guy if I could talk to the owner, and they immediately started to threaten to rip the connection out if I wanted to make any complaints at all (thereby leaving us without water possibly for another day). The guy was nice enough however to get the owner on the line. The owner immediately threatened to rip the connection out (AGAIN), and basically said he could care less what our complaints were.
Nice enough plumber who came out, but terrible and dishonest company to work with. Who threatens their own customers when talking with them?!?! Just be ready for some of this if you call up them up.
I called Clarke Kent Plumbing out to replace my kitchen sink. I was very impressed with the response time of their schedule. I didn't have to wait a week to have them come out. When the service technician arrived he was well mannered and very knowledgeable. He replaced my sink and my wife and I couldn't be happier with the work that was done. Not only does it look great for the holidays, but it was neat and cleanly done by Clarke Kent Plumbing. MANY THANKS!
I had Clarke Kent Plumbing come out to do a big project for us installing some random things in a new house we just bought. They installed 3 new faucets, 2 sinks, 2 toilets, and a new water heater. It was a lot of work. Would have take me and my husband forever. The team came and they were clean, friendly, and knowledgeable. They communicated with us throughout the whole project. What I like the most is that they do the work right the first time, they are nice, and scheduling with the office was easy. I recommend this company over all the other ones we tried to use. The second we picked up the phone with them we knew it was the right choice. Call Clarke Kent Plumbing before you call the other jokers out there who will toss you around on even getting a quote.
Wow! No wonder the name of their company is SUPERMAN! They are awesome!!! My water heater just all of a sudden stopped working and I called them freaking out to get it fixed (because I didn't want to take a cold shower)...they calmed me down and said they would have someone there that day! Next thing I know not even an hour later their office calls and they are sending someone out. Turns out my water heater was leaking, luckily we caught it in time...They had my water heater replaced in less that 2 hours and under $500.00!!! It's never worked better! I recommend this company to everyone I work with, my family, and friends. They have a strong supportive staff, they understand crisis situations, and most of all they are trustworthy! THANK YOU CLARKE KENT PLUMBING!!!
This is the worst company, call anyone else and pay 1/4 or less the price. Plus they did unnecessary work so the can charge more, and trashed my house. I had to hire another plumber to fix stuff after they were through. I cant believe they have any good reviews, it must be people who work there that write the good ones, there are so many bad reviews on the internet (check out citysearch) on this company, I wish I had looked into it before I hired them.

This plumbing company came to my home to give me a quote on installing a bathtub. I had to call them for the quote after 2 days. They quoted me $2500.00 just for instillation, which was what I paid for the tub...? The girl answering the phone was extremely rude. I asked to speak to the owner to relay my disappointment and she said,""They don't have time for complaints"". I finally found a plumber to install the tub for a fraction of their quote and he quit working for them due to their lack of morals/ethics. This furthur solidified my thoughts about this company--HORRIBLE!
So I put banana peels down the disposal...need I say more? I tried to fix it myself to no avail. I called at 7:30 am, the representative on the phone was curteous and friendly. She told me the technician was in south Austin and was on the way. By 8:42 he was here, it was fixed and I was on my way to work. I will definitely be using them again!

Do not use! I wish I had read some of these negative reviews (plus there are similar ones on other review sites) before I asked for service. This company does NOT believe in customer service, it's clear that they are only interested in taking your money. Frankly I was shocked that a service-oriented company treated me so rudely. The attitude that they give seems like, ""We're an established company, and we don't really need your business.""

I have had multiple plumbing issues since I have owned my home in the last year. Not a single plumber was able to explain the problem. Come to find out, my PSI was way too high causing all the problems I've had in the past. Woody was great and very punctual. Got to my house before I did!

Do not do business with this company. I had two leaking toilets and a leaking faucet. They charged
$220 to fix them. Within 2 months they were ALL leaking again worse than ever. I called them to ask them to come back and do it right and they very curtly informed me that I would be charged again.
They do not do the job right, they overcharge, and they don't stand behind their work.
Needless to say I did not have them come back out. I'll try to get someone a competent plumber this time.
I wish there were a zero star rating.

I have been forced to deal with these bozos for warranty issues. What others have said is absolutely my experience:
* missing call windows
* calls cancelled without notifying me. I wait all day only to call late afternoon and be told that my call was cancelled.
* no return calls. I have left 3 messages this week for the manager, and he has not returned a single one. I believe that I am on a ""do not answer"" list because he never seems to be available. Always in a meeting, out on a job, on the phone or someting.
* I have overpaid (according to the manufacturer) for installation services, and the job was not done correctly.
* I have had to pay for repairs to my appliance caused by their installation errors.
* They told me that I would have to pay for return trip charges when they did not bring the proper equipment, personnel, or timing to the job the first time. (you pay a minimum of $157 no matter how long they spend or what they do - or don't do).
I have been working with the company for over a month, but I can not even get anyone with authority to talk to me. They call and leave messages that I have to take a day off of work to meet them between the hours of 10 am and 3 pm (their work day) at my home. I have left 3 messages that I want to speak to someone on the phone before I take yet another day off of work. However, no one is ever available to speak. The owner and manager are always either ""out of the office today"", ""have not come in yet"", or ""in a meeting"". I have only been able to give messages to the owner through his secretary, and they consider that ""working with me"" to resolve the matter.
Do not use these guys. The plumbers are courteous and nice enough, but the management staff is not helpful at all.

They were late showing up to give me the first estimate. then would not return any of my phone calls for days. I was forced to use them because no one else could come out when i needed them in such short notice. When i finally got them to schedule the appointment they were 2.5 hrs. late! Don't use them unless you HAVE TO!

Have used them several times. Generally they are punctual, but when there is an issue, such as what is under warranty or not under warranty, I found them to be completely inflexible. In my opinion, I have found them to be a little more expensive than other services and their bid process is wildly erratic. Would not use them for a major project unless every ""i"" is dotted and ""t"" is crossed.

We are long time repeat customers of Clarke Kent Plumbing. Have mistakes ever been made, estimates off a bit, or interactions with a particular individual less than what I'd desire? Over the years, we have likely experienced each one of these and perhaps one I don't recall. However, for each of these, I have seven to ten positive to great experiences, and so I recommend them to everyone. I understand that businesses don't always grow smoothly, or that sometimes an individual is hired who turns out to be a different caliber of technician or communicator than was evaluated during the hiring process.
Clarke Kent employees tends to be fair, open-minded, and knowledgeable. Many of them are talented communicators. They are good at displaying several remedy scenarios and explaining the risks, costs and benefits of each. I've never felt pressured into a particular path forward, and the costliest remedy is often not the recommended one. Once, when we did have a real misunderstanding about a job's scope and schedule. they were fair in the way we worked it all out.

I was a given a 2 to 4 hour window for the technician to arrive. After 4 hours, I called a second time only to be told they didn't have a record of my first call. The technician finally showed up 5 hours after the initial call. The quote on the phone for a drain cleaning was $30 service call, $23 for each 15 minutes, with a minimum of 30 minutes ($76 minimum). When the technician arrived on-site, he originally told me it would be $160 plus $23 for each 15 minutes, then dropped it to $130 then dropped it again to $112.50. When I challenged his quote, he told me I must have been mistaken or given an incorrect quote over the phone. This sounds like a bait and switch to me! Keeping me waiting all day (on a Friday) so that if I didn't use their service, I would have to pay weekend or after hour rates.
