I had eye surgery over a year ago. The results are debatable and borderline needing another surgery. This has been confirmed by two other specialist's opinions. My biggest complaint is the treatment/attitude I received from Dr. Craven. He finally offered to do another surgery, only after receiving a letter from another doctor. His demeanor was aggressive and threatening and I would not want to put myself in his hands again. He promised he would always follow-up until his patients were satisfied. This promise was not fulfilled.

Dr. Craven performed my rhinoplasty and I absolutely love my new nose! He's very friendly and really made me feel comfortable through the whole process. I am just 5 weeks post op and think he did a great job! In fact my experience with everyone from Westlake Dermatology was great. I always found the front desk girls to be friendly and they always got me in quickly. I would definitely recommend Dr. Craven for anyone thinking of having anything done!

I used Dr. Nikolaidis for a smart lipo procedure about 8 months ago. I got absolutely no results from it and I have two indentations on my inner thighs that look like hollow spots. I called the office, and they told me most results take about 6 months to be noticeable. This surgery was a scam and I paid 6000.00. Rude Service from the front desk girls and no results from the surgery itself. I really want my money back or a real result but do not want to deal with such rude people.

Not only did they take forever to get me into my appointment, they herded me in like the rest of the cattle. A medical assistant came in and numbed my face prior to my Botox treatment. She was really nice but seemed distracted. 10 minutes later another person stepped into the room and tried to do my Botox without my knowledge. She stated that the Doc was busy! How rude! I was in a rush so I let her do it, too bad I wasn't numb in some areas.

After going on a number of ""free consults"" to various cosmetic and plastic surgery offices in Austin, I came across Westlake Dermatology upon recommendation from one of my friends. From the moment I stepped in the door I was impressed. The office is beautiful and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and attentive and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I am 49 and was interested in doing something to freshen up my skin that didn't involve surgery. I had read online about the new Fraxel Repair laser and that it tightened and remodeled the skin as well as built new collagen. I was probably due for a facelift but I am not ready to do surgery. Dr. Nikolaidis explained how the laser worked and was very informative and patient with all of my hundreds of questions. I was very nervous about having this procedure done but everyone was so professional and educated anytime I had a question or doubt that this was the right procedure for me. My skin is now tighter, the lines around my mouth and my crow's feet have vanished and the sun spots are no where to be found! I am thrilled! I was skeptical about this laser and paying so much ($3400 for my face and full neck) but I would have payed twice that had I know how well it would work. This office and the doctors their have completely earned my business and trust. I have since gone back for regular medical checkups with my kids, as well as more cosmetic services such as botox, microderm abrasion and to get my smile lines filled. There is not a better cosmetic and medical dermatology office in Austin. Its is comparable, if not better than, the office I went to for years in Orange County that I never thought I would find a replacement for! Dr. Nik has made my face look 15 years younger.

I have had cosmetic and dermatology services performed at Westlake Dermatology's Bee Cave Road location. I couldn't agree more with the first reviewer that the office staff is second rate. However, I have found this to be the case only for the cosmetic surgery office, not the dermatology office. Dr. Craven performed my breast augmentation and I was very pleased with him and the nurses I dealt with at the office and the surgery center. If he and his nurses had not been so professional and knowledgeable, I would have lost confidence in the entire office and had the procedure done elsewhere because I found the front office staff to be unprofessional, confused, easily distracted, oblivious to clients' needs and unknowledgeable about the office's procedures and policies. For example, when it was time to make payment to the surgery center (Bailey Square), I was told by Westlake's office staff FOUR different versions of what needed to be done as far as making payment that one payment. I was told one thing at my initial consultation, received a phone call from the office with different instructions and was given written instructions that gave a third set of instructions. When I called Westlake's office and asked them which set of instructions was correct I was told yet again something different. When I told her I was looking at my set of pre-operative instructions given to me at their office and I read her the instructions she said, ""Really? I can't imagine what you're looking at"". I finally ended up calling the surgery center myself to find out about making payment and found out NONE of the instructions given to me by Westlake's front office staff were correct.
If you can get past the inept front office staff in the cosmetic surgery office, Westlake Dermatology may be a good choice for you.

Went to WD after a life catastrophe, having decided to spend some $ on myself as part of my recovery. I walked in & was ""evaluated"" by a young girl, who rolled her eyes when I told her I thought it would take me 5 years to accomplish something close to what I had heard about laser. A bit taken aback, I asked her a question, expecting to discuss my skin type, procedure details, side effects, etc. Nothing. She asked one of the Dr's to come in and suggest the best procedure for me; he said I needed a $300 procedure, but then added that I needed a $2200 proc. I asked about details and was handed a brochure. I was then whisked to the front desk and told I needed several jars of beauty creme, totalling ~ $400, and told me I needed to use their mineral makeup. I replied that I like Bare Minerals, and was told ""that's full of chemicals and it's old lady makeup anyway"". She walked away and the young girl at the desk asked me for my credit card. I told her there was no way I was going to spend $400, and didn't want the sunscreen. She told me ""it protects against UVA and UVB rays, and yes, you need it, because there is no other product on the market anywhere that does this. I told her Banana Boat and Copper Tone have those products, and I got another eye roll. She then gigled and fumbled her way through the appt calendar for a good three or four mins, telling me that on each day I chose to have the procedure, they had no appts. She then told me she was going to charge me another 200 for a deposit. I asked her if they always sprung this on their customers at checkout, and she batted her eyes and said - XX discussed this with you (which she hadn't). She insisted that she had, and I told her to forget it, I didn't want the proc OR the products. She gave me big eyes and said - but you signed this paper, you have to. I told her I would get a lawyer or she could cancel everything. She threatened to call the doctor and I told her it made no difference to me.

I chose Dr. Nikolaidis to perform the Fraxel Re:pair laser on my face and neck because of his impressive credentials in the area of laser resurfacing and other minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. In fact, when I did an internet search I found that his appraisal of new technologies, such as the Fraxel Re:pair laser, is very much respected by other physicians throughout the country. I am sure that this is why he was selected by Reliant (the laser company) to be among a handful of physicians in the country to use the new Fraxel Re:pair laser after the clinical trials were completed. My decision was made and I booked a flight from Colorado to Austin.
I want to tell you about the great experience I had at Westlake Dermatology. The staff is friendly, helpful, caring, and encouraging. Before and after the procedure they gave assurance when I needed it.
Dr. Nikolaidis really cares about his patients. He listened intently about what I wanted to achieve regarding my face and neck. He made sure that I was comfortable before, during, and after the procedure. I found that he is very thorough and takes preventive action before there is a possible problem. For example, he scheduled an additional appointment (at no extra fee) just to make sure I was on track. He also advised me about other cosmetic procedures that would compliment the Fraxel Re;Pair and I went with his advice.
I can already see the results that I had hoped for! One of the areas I wanted to improve were the deep crow?s feet and lax skin around my eyes. The results are very impressive. The skin in now tight and there is no sign of crow's feet! He accomplished this by combining the Fraxel Re:pair with another laser called the Active FX. It is only 6 days since I had the procedure done and I'm looking forward to continual improvements over the next 6 months.
I forgot to mentioned that the fee for the Fraxel at Westlake is much lower than other clinics that I looked at.

I recently switched to Dr. Nikolaidis for my skin care. He's patient, listens well, and really understands my issues and knows how to fix them. He was really fabulous when working with my skin problems when I was pregnant. I highly recommend Westlake Dermatology.

I had an appointment with Dr. Lisa Rhodes of Westlake Dermatology. The facility was absolutely first rate . . . I've never seen an office this nice, with beautiful views of the Hill Country. The staff were courteous and attentive as well. But what impressed me most was Dr. Rhodes. Not only was she caring and insightful, she took the time to answer all of my questions. I'm definitely coming back.

I recently had abdominal lipo at Westlake Dermatology with Dr. Cameron Craven performing the procedure. I was amazed that the procedure did not hurt! He injected some anesthetic medication, and I have felt dentist shots that hurt more than that! Once the anesthetic worked, I didn't feel anything during the procedure. That plus the fact that they give you a mild antianxiety agent, to take an hour before the procedure, ensured that I was ""feeling no pain"".
Dr. Craven and the Nurses were so very caring not only during my procedure, but also during my post op visits.
The nurses there are absolutely the best, and most of them have advanced practice credentials.
Also, they paid close attention to infection control protocols. They seemed to realize and embrace the fact that infection is of primary concern and they did everything possible to prevent post operative complications.
As well, they had a credit company available, that they helped me register with. The company allows you to pay off the balance within one year, without interest.
I highly recommend Westlake Dermatology for this procedure and in particular, recommend Dr. Cameron Craven.
