This was our fourth or fifth time at Buca with a large, slightly rowdy party and they have never let us down.
The food is always great and there's plenty of it, so expect a doggie bag. Some of our favorites are the Bruschetta, the Apple Gorgonzola Salad, the Lasagna and Chicken Saltimbocca, and the luscious desserts. We had the crazy big Brownie Explosion Sundae, and the Dulce sampler platter, with the standout Apple Crostata and Double Dark Chocolate Cake.Yum!! They even added some Chocolate Chip Cannolis, as there was only a small piece of Cheesecake available.
Our waiters Steven and Rebecca kept our glasses full and our plates clear, and the manager always comes to check on our service. We've always made a reservation for the weekends, and have never had a problem. In fact, this time they called Saturday morning to confirm our reservation for that evening.
Overall, I'd say Buca di beppo does an outstanding job
We definitely kept them hopping with our large, somewhat demanding party and they rose to the challenge. Everyone was pleasant and efficient and it made for an enjoyable evening. What more could you ask for?

So we had a reservation for 31 people. Only 29 showed up, and they wanted to charge us for the 2 absent ones.
Question: If you bring communal plates, why do you want to charge per person then?
The $27.00 per person was way too much for the quality and the taste of the food. Nothing out of the ordinary or delicious or special. Bland salad, spaghetti with sauce - no meat, chicken with a tiny piece of cheese on top.
At the end, everyone from servers to the woman (we suppose she was the manager) turned to rude and unprofessional. Apparently they don't know how to run cards on their system or something...
I agree with other reviewers, DO NOT TAKE YOUR GROUP TO THIS PLACE!!!
Too annoying and not cheap!!! I'm sure next time we will find a place that actually enjoys their customers.

It's hard to believe that there aren't many reviews about Buca over the years (good or bad).
I have never been to this one in particular when it has been overly crowded. There has never been a rude word or any waiter/waitress that has ever shrugged my table off in avoidance. Their food is always delicious and love the family style servings. I'm a leftover lover and these are always the best.
My only recommendation is to avoid the Tiramsu like the plague. I ordered it twice and it tasted terrible both times. The third time (shame on me) I had it was brought home by a friend, and I wound up spitting it out. They really need to review the recipe on that one.

We reserved a room for 50 kids for a homecoming dinner from 5:30 - 7:30. The manager proceeded to place additional diners in our reserved area and then when they complained that our kids were too loud, they told them to get up and leave (after they had taken our money). These were a very responsible group of kids. The partner at the restaurant treated them and the chaperoning parents very poorly. I do not advise large groups to book there in the future.

The food and atmosphere here is great! I had never had a problem with the service till last night. They sat my boyfriend and I down and it took about 4-5 minutes for out waitress to greet us. She took our drink order, delivered the beverages and bread. After I ordered my entree I asked if I could add a side salad and she said yes. We finished off the bread and my boyfriend's iced tea was about 3/4's gone and our waitress didn't acknowledge when she passed. She passed by us twice and asked everyone else if they were ok but not us. She finally came by after we were sitting there wondering if she was ever going to come by and filled his tea and asked us if we would like more bread-we said yes. Shortly after that our entree's came out and we ate. Half way through eating, I realized I never got my salad. I asked her for my salad and she said ""Oh...did you still want it?"". I was like uhh yes , im still paying for it! For the rest of dinner she never came by our table- and we never got bread. I only ate half of my food and my boyfriend had food left as well. We sat there for ten-15 minutes after we finished eating, waiting for her to come by our table so we could get 2 to-go boxes and order dessert. She asked us if we would like to-go boxes and we said yes and order our dessert. She took our plates away. We ate our dessert and paid the ticket. When she dropped off our change she said ok thanks for coming (she never brought out of to go boxes with our food in it), I ask her if we could have our food with the togo boxes and she said oh..ok...left and brought us our bag. Well this morning I decided I was going to eat some left overs and when I opened the boxes I discovered that she gave us someone else's food.

Twice now, I have placed large lunch orders for my entire office. Both times, Buca completely lost the order...couldn't even find the paper that the order was taken on! OK, I understand that mistakes happen, but really, twice? And, they weren't even apologetic about it. The food used to be great but now it is mediocre at best. Too bad...

We hadn't been in year - called on a Friday night at 6:30pm and the male manager said ""totally open for 2, no wait!"". We literally were in the front door 3 minutes later and were told 45 minute wait. The young girls manning the booth appologized even when we exclaimed we were upset that someone lied to us (bald male manager in the back was giving someone directions at the time - it was him as all the girls kept glancing at him.
Waited it out in the bar - ok, nice bartender.
Then 45 min later we were seated in the very back right next to the kitchen - which was noisy and packed.
We almost walked out.
Fortunately our sever was sweet and took care of us quickly. Food was ok, I mean it is a chain so you can;t expect it to be really good.
We ate, wrapped it up and left. We won't be back. Pretty much this is where you go when you have 9 kids and have never eaten real Italian food in your life.

Buca is like no place I have ever dined before (and it's not just because of the HUGE portions). You start out on a tour through the restaurant that begins in the kitchen! While it's a little unorthodox I find comfort in the fact that if they allow people to walk through it, the kitchen must be clean. There's a table directly in the kitchen that can be reserved so you can watch all the action. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food is delicious and there is plenty of it to go around so bring a friend or two or twenty. I highly recommend the chicken cannelloni, the tortelloni, and the chicken saltimbocca. I will definitely be going back to this place again and again.
