The absolute worst credit union or lender I have ever had dealt with and that's saying something since I've banked with close to two dozen lenders for personal and business needs over the last 20 years in several states.
Pamela Cotton-VP service and Chad Heil loan officer have to be the worst lending employees ever. Five days not returning emails, anti-small business owners, rude, unhappy, and condescending, unlike with most loan officers and lenders they won't talk with you at all, they don't allow you use the same LO you worked with before to build a relationship with, the most ultra-conservative lending practices maybe in the country by a credit union.
You call the main ATFCU number and being on hold for 20-30 minutes is normal, it takes DAYS (I kid you not) for them to get back with you on loan approvals. Their phone app looks like something a two-year-old uses crayons to draw up and it's like their stuck in the 1950's.
Do your banking and lending with the big boys in central Texas like I do and I shouldn't have tried to forge a new relationship with such a small little angry credit union. I use Navy Fed, PenFed, and RBFCU they know how to treat people correctly.

Wish I could give a negative rating.
Once again this is a bank with a credit union name.
Fee abuse abounds. They have charged me over and over for transactions that have not posted and seem to think that is just fine. Balance shows to be consistently positive. Deposits made well prior to debits posting to the account. Chose to lose my business over a ""privilege pay"" charge ($34 I might add that is higher than any other place i know of) that they charged with a positive balance before the charge even got close to posting.
Customer service is horrible and for that matter ignorant. Unyielding and not interested in listening to their members complaints or helping at all would be a good statement.
As soon as I can get it taken care of I'm gone.
Trying to find a financial institution that is not a total ripp off is a major challenge it would seem.
Merry Christmas. Yeah Right.
This is the worst bank I've ever dealt with. Their customer service is non-existent. I had a ridiculous fee on my account for a returned statement due to the bank not receiving my change of address. After speaking with a representative about the address change and the fee they agreed to remove the small fee of five dollars as long as I faxed a letter to them with the new address. A few days later I checked my account and was surprised to see the fee still on my account. I called back in to the bank to basically be called a liar and told there was nothing that could be done. I asked to speak to a higher representative and got Miranda. Miranda was very rude to me and also basically called me a liar. After a long hold time, she came back on the line stating, very rudely, as a "courtesy" to me they would remove the fee. After this ordeal, I went to use my debit card to find they were deactivated! I am still trying to get them to reactivate it. I have never been treated so badly from any company let alone the place I trust to watch my money. This has bank has given me nothing but problems since starting with them. This incident does not take into consideration the additional problems I had when I first started. A word of advice, do not bank here! Find a place that isn't keen on employing incompetent, rude people.

Wow - what a difference a credit union is from a bank! The Lakeway location (3317 S. RR 620, Lakeway Texas, 78738) is already like an old friend to me. I have my business and my personal accounts there. They have fast extremely personal service. The manager, Carisa, takes a personal interest in my overall experience at her facility. They have all sorts of conveniences. My favorite is that when I lose my check card (which is embarrassingly - all too frequent) they can cancel the old one and print the new one right there while I wait, which is hugely helpful.

I recently opened a checking account here at AFCU. The service has been terrible. I had to wait 3 months to get a debit/credit card, and even so, they have a very old system, SO BEWARE bankers! If you bank there, when your paycheck deposits, you cannot use it right away. Nope, their system updates at 9:30, 12, and 7. So say you get paid on Friday, cant touch it till 9:30. If your lucky. I was not so lucky, many times, my check did not update till noon, EVEN though it showed there as early as 7am online. Each time I called, I was talked down to by employees as if I wasnt entitled to my own hard earned money when I wanted it. Not to mention, the one and only loaction. With gas prices, who has the time and gas to drive all the way across town, just because the system is slow, thats the only way to touch my money.
Im done with them, I only joined to appease my husband, who still banks there. I expect better.
