We realized on our way out of town our brake lights weren't working. The store manager grabbed out key, changed the lights and sent us down the road in less than 10 minutes. Seriously? Go by this place. They are off the chain.

After using this place over three years I took my Altima in for an oil change and asked for a brake check. I received a call about two hours later saying I needed brake shoes and all rotors all around. They had replaced my front shoes and rotors about two months prior and I reminded them of th…

Let's face it, buying a car is usually the same type of experience as going to the dentist -- not fun. Our overall experience at Champion was a good one though. We shopped around a lot and got the best price, which Champion beat and gave us free oil changes to boot. Our salesperson was great …

I have taken my car to Ron Shimek for years. It's a bit inconvenient to get there from my house in Spicewood but it is worth the drive to know I can trust the mechanics that work on my car. Ron always gives me the straight answer and I know I have saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the …

No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
I did a fair amount of research before deciding to take my BMW to Active Motorwerks. I have been in the Automobile business for twenty five years, and I know all most all of the tricks, and the ins and outs. My experience started with a pleasant telephone call, resulting in an appointment. Already impressed with the efficiency of the outfit, I took my car down there for what I hoped to be a routine procedure. Mario and his crew did everything they agreed to do , and a whole lot more. The trouble with the 540i was much greater than expected, but with the aid of the computer readout, Mario took me through all of the scenarios, explaining my options at every juncture. Although, I didn't want to spend the money, the empirical evidence on the computer screen was backed up with straight talk and common sense. I thoroughly recommend Active Autowerks to anyone with a BMW. I drove down from Salado, TX, and it was well worth it. It is refreshing to work with straight talking honest people who have the technical know how and demonstrate evidence to support their diagnoses. By the way, their labour rate , at $100.00/hr, is less than most domestics, who range from $112.50 to $120.00 . I'm not saying they should raise it, but it does underscore the value of a facility which specialises in jobs other people don't have the expertise to touch. Great job, guys. I will not bring my cars anywhere else.
I broke my rack and pinion steering somehow. Luckily I didn't get into a wreck. Anyway, the tow driver recommended Galaxy and I figured that it was close so it was worth having them take a look. The manager/proprietor put my car on the lift and showed me that the entire assembly was broken. This is not a small problem. He quoted me just under 800 dollars, which I barely had. Agreed to have the repair done. Proprietor was nice enough to give me a ride back to my apartment. Took the bus for a few days and had to take a few cabs :( Called the shop and proprietor said I also need an alignment for extra dough (maybe even something else). I was making the call from the bus on my way to work and this was pretty disturbing news. I just levelled with him and said, "I don't have that much. I have only as much as we agreed on... barely." Proprietor said that will be OK. I think he probably did the alignment and just didn't charge me. I think they did a great job and the price was fair (maybe even low). I will take my car there again for my next maintenance or repair.
They like to save you money through smart preventive care. Respectful. Honest. Edin and Amela are so passionate about automotive work, they'll educate you on paper (draw a diagram, write a list of the parts in question on a legal pad) and then point out the actual parts in your car, show you an old part and a new one, explain how the pieces work or why the fluid needs to be replaced and in what time frame. They even helped me get compensation from a different auto repair place that had used an incorrect bolt on one of my struts. They stand behind their work with old-fashioned ethics & integrity. You'll feel like you have dear friends or family members working on your car, who really care. They work on transmissions and did my 100K mile tuneup. They also do jobs as small as an oil change, but it's the kind of oil change where they check your alignment & tire pressure & fluid levels and inform you if anything needs attention. They're kind & humane. They'll offer help with logistics, like taking you to work or driving your second vehicle to wherever you need it.
When my Audi A6 started slamming hard between 1st and 2nd I was pretty nervous about what was happening to my car. I have had it for a few years now without any issues at all, and although it has quite a bit of miles the car always drove great. Anyways, I did some research online and saw that Reliable has a north shop but just opened this shop which is closer to where I live. I liked that they had free towing because I stopped driving it after the harsh shifts. I didn't want to cause anymore damage then what was already done. So the towing was free and the inspection was free, everything was starting out on the right foot. David gave me a call with what they found, and the parts that he told me were damaged were consistent to the research I had done online myself. His prices were reasonable and payment plans worked well for me. As a young professional who just graduated, this repair really didn't have the best timing. But anyways, just everything from start to finish went smooth and pain free. David is great, he made this experience not so bad after all.
Both my daughters have taken lessons from D'Ette and Co. They have been taught by Ms. D'Ette, Ms. Karen, and Ms. Jade, all of whom know their material and work very well with children. The control they maintain over their classes is something to behold; even the three-year-olds pay perfect attention. (They are learning manners as well as ballet.) The music, dances, and costumes are always age appropriate and fun for the children. There is a formal recital every other year, with informal recitals in the other years, and there is a production of The Nutcracker each year for dancers in first grade and beyond. D'Ette and her staff always go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the children have the best possible experience in classes and at performances. I am truly amazed at the work they do. Whether you are considering dance lessons for a younger child, an older child, or even yourself, I would suggest you visit D'Ette and Co. You will not find a better environment for your children than the one Ms. D'Ette and her staff have created.
I took my 1998 Dodge Dakota in to Japanese Auto Tech / Alltech Automotive yesterday for a check engine light. I had already been to another shop that I will not mention and they were going to try to rip me off. I dealt with David and Claudia at Japanese Auto Tech and they were very professional and very nice. They gave me a ride back to my house so I could be comfortable waiting for my car to be done. I had taken it in that morning and by lunch they had a diganosis for me. The repairs I needed on my truck were half the price of the other shop and they had done a free 31 point inspection and gave me a list of things that I would need to watch out for but that everything on the list could wait. I have never had a more pleasant experience at an automotive repair shop as I did at Japanese Auto Tech. I will never go any where else for anything on my vehicle. If there is something that cant be done there they are willing to take it wherever it needs to go to get your vehicle repaired properly.
I had gotten several estimates to tix the hood and light of my car after I had a little accident. Every body shop I went to insisted minimum $1500 estimate. Obviously they all wanted to replace and paint the hood and replace the light. I was looking for a more functional repair. I went to the guys at Grand Central Auto. Will and his team advised me that they could pound out the wrinkle, install a new hood latch since the old one was ruined and straighten out the light. I found the latch on line and brought it to them. Gotthe car back the same day for around $200. They even managed to save the light and repoint it even with the other since it was pointing straight up since the accident. Granted my repairs were small. Im not saying you can get any repair for under $200, but these guys really do listen to you and try to find solutions. I trust them and will be back for any auto related needs. They do mechanical repairs as well as body shop stuff.
I just read the review before mine and it astounds me when people think they are entitled. ALL human life is valuable! Even pregnant women have to suffer inconveniences in life. I was also pregnant twice and didn't ask or expect special treatment. The guy was hurt and you were annoyed because your boo bear had to get a ride. That's life my dear. As for the guys at Kwik Lube, I've taken my car there for 7years and it's always run smoothly. They never try to gouge me with additional services. If some maintenance is legitimately due, they give me a discount. Once I had a light come on my panel. They ran a free diagnostic and found out it was something simple (a cap was loose). They didn't charge me. The last time I was in, I left a bag with expensive cell phone equipment in it. They called and let me know they had it. I was so grateful for their honesty. I have also never had to wait more than half an hour since I've been going there.
I had a flat on Lamar and tried to drive on in and bent my rim pretty bad. I ended up in the parking lot next door to this tire shop and one of the workers there came outside to help. Jacked my car up in the neighboring parking lot, removed my tire and tried to put another one on but found out the rim was no good after driving on it. So they luckily had some stock rims and gave me a rim and tire for $80! Hubcap annie wanted $92 for my rim alone with no tire. YIKES! Not to mention my car is pulling to the right really bad after I drove it. I called them back and asked maybe if it was the tire, and I brought it back and they said it needed alignment cause of the curb I hit when I had a flat. So I will be bringing it back next week for alignment. Since I bought my tire there, they are giving me a discount on the alignment! Ask for David or Richard. They both helped me and were more than informative, they made me feel at home.
Kevin Casey and his shop have been working on our family cars since 1990. He has consistently gone out of his way to provide conscientious and thorough work. He communicates fully our options and possible courses of action before proceeding. He is ALWAYS thinking of how to take better care of his customers. We have been saved many $1000's of dollars over the years by his shopping around for equivalent but less expensive parts (which he always clears with us). The way Kevin's team work on our vehicles is the way I would do it if I could run my own personal family shop. We had a car that was being serviced for free from the dealer. WHAT A BOTHER! I was constantly being disappointed by poor communication, long waits, just bad service experience. Once that arrangement expired, we were back home to Kevin. I have recommended Hondacure to many friends (with many makes of cars) and will continue to do so.
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
