Service was great! Friendly staff and great food. Mushroom burger was amazing and the hand cut fries were delicious.
I just tried this spot out for the first time and I was really impressed. Their milkshakes are some of the best I've ever had, and they had a really good burger selection. My burger came out perfect and had a lot of flavor, and I got a side of fries also that were really delicious and unique too.
I love this place! The special sauce they put on their burgers is delicious. And the best part is how cheap the burgers are. It's an awesome lunch meal for someone on a budget.
Best breakfast in town.
This location is horrible and needs to be closed, shut down, and or receive new management immediately. The customer service here is a beyond terrible. The employees here are so rude, they play around when taking your order as if everyone has been here before and should know the menu and get mad when you ask a question. The managers are just as horrible and as rude as the workers, they have NO knowledge or skills of the food service industry. They all need to receive some type of professional development and training on how to render quality customer service. These workers even refused to give me the guest relations, corporate phone number to speak with an Owner, or general manager regarding the issue we experienced. They gave us the wrong order, then did the next order incorrectly, so we just returned everything since they just can't seem to get things right. SHORT STOP #9 located at 6603 Berkman Dr. Austin, TX is one of the worst places to visit, please don't waste your time or money at this establishment.BTW...This Short Stop is #9, The gust relations office phone number is (512) 453-7839, the owners name is Mr. Ledbetter. And I agree 100% the manager on duty at this location is extremely rude, she kept saying her name is "J" or "Jay", like she didn't have a first and last name to give customers that were experiencing a problem. She is non apologetic when the issues are being created by them from their errors and she just acts like nothing is wrong or there is nothing she can do about it. Did I say Horrible customer service already....Well I will say it again, remove these people from working here and get real workers that are sympathetic and apologetic to customers when they make a mistake. And employees that know how to prevent problems at least keep them minimal, and know how to correctly deal with customers in the event an issue should arise and take the customers inconvience into consideration when doing so.
A must try while in Austin. You will be standing in line for a bit but it's worth the wait. Great burgers and fries.
I can't give the food a rating as we didn't get past the bad service enough to even try the food. Our order was a little hamburger with mayo/ketchup, little cheeseburger with mayo/ketchup, little bacon cheeseburger with mayo/ketchup/lettuce, cheeseburger with mayo/ketchup, 2 little fries , 2 regular Cajun fries and 4 drinks. Out of that whole order...the only thing they got right was the drinks. We received 4 bacon cheeseburgers, 1 with lettuce and onions, 1 regular fry and 1 Cajun fry. When I brought the order back to the counter I told the cashier that I think they gave us the wrong order cause all the hamburgers were wrong. Before the cashier could even talk, the cook comes out and asked what the problem is. I told her that all the hamburgers have bacon on them and the individual mistakes on each one. She grabs the ticket and rudely says "you ordered them with bacon". I told her no...on the ticket it clearly says only one was supposed to. Without even checking the food, she proceeds to tell me I'm wrong and that all the burgers DO NOT have bacon. I had to physically open each burger and take them apart to prove that there was bacon, onions and cheese on all the burgers. Only then did she admit the order was wrong and then blamed it on other staff members. By that time, I was so aggravated with her that I asked for complete refund. She just walked off, throwing her hands in the air. Someone came out (I'm assuming the manager) and gave me my money back and apologized for behavior. It was our first visit there and we will never be back.
The french fries are awesomeness. The burger meat had an off taste like it had been microwaved. The onions on the hamburger were good and the avacado was minuscule so there was hardly any flavor to help cover the meat. The Old Bay seasoning on the tables made the meat tolerable. the service folks were very nice. Restaurant was clean and comfy.
Who would have thought that standing in line, peering through floor to ceiling windows, watching others eat what appear to be delicious burgers and fries, would be so fun? Hopdoddy is putting out the best burger in Austin currently, the local craft beer selection is not expansive, but, of high quality (enjoyed in line or sitting down), and the staff is consistently upbeat and positive - a great combination. For those who love a good cheeseburger, Hopdoddy sets the Austin baseline - it's a great bun made onsite, thick juicy patty, and a creatively satisfying, but not overwhelming, taste. The burger can be, at times, too juicy, making the bottom half of your bun turn slightly soggy - yep, it's getting that particular.
I went to Short Stop today and ordered a meal from them, got it home and when I opened the bag, a large amount of a white substance come off of my napkin and onto my food and bed.. I called the manager at the location and she had an attitude when I told her that I wanted my money back and I would bring the food back to them... I get there and the manager comes to the window (No apology), just closes the window and takes the food over to where they are making the food at and starts taking the food out of the bag (Gross- because this is the same area they are still making food), she then brings the food back to me and says she does not see what I am talking about, I told her to remove the napkin , in which she did and a white substance came off.. A lady who was working the window came over and said it was from a wet nap (I have never saw a wet nap in powder form). I told her she could keep it and just to refund my money, she took the receipt and said the money would be refunded in 7 days (It took 2 minutes for them to take off my card), so I asked her for a receipt or a name or something since she is taking the receipt- the only proof of the purchase, she said she could not give me a receipt. After leaving the location I got back home and could not find a phone number, an address, or anything for me to report the incident to short stop's corporate office. If someone from the corporate office reads this I would just ask with hiring managers for locations, to make sure that they are professional and understand the concept of good customer service. They lost a customer due to rude and inappropriate reactions to a situation. I will never eat at this location ever again and will be sure to advise others not to as well..I just hate for the other people who got the same white substance on there food and did not notice-(Hope no one gets sick)....
