A Great Vet! He doesn't have very good people skills, but is a great vet. I'm not sure what these people are talking about ""he's in it for the money."" It was very reasonable. He didn't tack on a bunch of crap charges and only did what was necessary. He knew what was wrong right away and didn't do a bunch of tests for no reason. I took my puppy there and he was very thorough and cared a lot for him. He even took the time to call me a few days later to check up on him. Now what ""horrible, inconsiderate"" doctor would take time to call and check up on my sick puppy? A few weeks later I took my kitten there and the same thing. He made sure she had the best care. I am very happy with this vet and Recommend him to any one!

I certainly wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone. We went there because (the only pro) he was the only vet that was still open on a holiday eve. Not only was the wait time excessive (even though there was only one other customer), but the worst part was that he took a phone call in the middle of my dog's exam (which he could have easily called back). Not only did he leave my dog on the table for 15 minutes (a 60 pound dog who he didn't even offer to help me, a 100 pound woman, to get on the table), but he also spent 10 minutes on the phone call and then proceeced to take another 10 minutes to kick back, relax and have a beverage in his office before he returned to the exam room (I had a full view of him reclining in his office chair from our exam room). This man could care less about the pets he is ""caring"" for. He used to be fairly cheap but he isn't even that anymore and I have nothing good to say about the care he provides. This all is not even mentioning the doctor's extremely poor bedside manner...very cold and distant. Normally I do not care about beside manner (if the vet is competent), but it became clear that Dr. Haas was not only cold and uncaring, but also incompetent. He has no empathy for either you or your pet and it is clear why he is working in the back of a pet store instead of a real veteranary clinic.

All Dr. Money cares about is money. I brought a stray kitten that had a bloody nose. The front staff said that they would take it in and take care of it and adopt it out and find it a good home. When I brought him in they said that it is a possibility that he has feline leukemia and that puts my cat at risk if she isn't up to dates on her vaccines. They said that they would run the test and call me with the results. I called the next day and tests hadn't been run. Dr. HaASS got on the phone and told me that I couldn't have access to the test results unless I paid him for them. I told him how this kitten was a stray and not mine and how his staff told me they could take it in and get it the vet care it needed and they would adopt it out and let me know the test results. He didn't care... he said that I couldn't get test results without paying for them because he has a business to run. He was going to run the test anyway!! All he had to to was let me know the results so I would know if I needed to take my cat to the vet. My own vet would have seen this kitten for free but my vet was closed. Then he asked me why I didn't just take the kitten to DDFL?? DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ANIMALS!!

Dr. Haas was very rude. Made me feel like I don't care about my animals. He told me the cat didn't get socialized that I adopted there and I told him the cat was abused. When I called the previous owner , she told me the cat had been kicked and hit. Made it all about the money after adopting a cat. I took the cat and went to Dr Kevin Fitzgerald at Alameda East. He may cost more but would NEVER talk to a pet owener like Dr Haas did. Pet Palace is the Best place to go and the owners are wonderful. I would never take a pet there for any reason.
Keep going to Pet Palace for all other needs

Pet Palace has been great with all my dogs and cats over the past 15 years. I would not take then to any other Vet. at this time. Dr. Haas has alway been very
good with all my animals. And when I have had to have one put to sleep he has been very helpful and kind.
Thanks Dr. and the staff at Pet Palace.

I don't know why this vet would have any bad ratings... my experience at pet palace was great, the price was right, and I really felt like my dog was well taken care of.
The only problem I had there was the wait, they've got a walk-in clinic, and I guess business is good because there's always a line of people!

Rude, inconsiderate, BIG $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ motive. He is a creep. I asked to hold my dog as he was being put to sleep....the creep put the needle in BEFORE I could do that. My LAST memory is the look in my dogs eyes as I said goodbye. The doc needs a shot of personality and compassion, to say the least. NEVER step foot in that hell hole again. The ONLY good thing are his staff, all very nice and caring. And then, you are lead to the back with the doc, like a torture chamber for people.

In regards to putting the family dog down...
Dr. Phillip Haas is an inconsiderate Piece of poo, and if not for my mother being present, I would be sitting in a jail cell right now.
For those of you where money means the world, sure he's great.
For those of you who care about anything other than yourselves, I highly suggest avoiding this doctor.
There is a reason why he is a Vet., in a clinic, in the back of a pet store.
No people skills, no empathy, only an understanding for money.
""Would you like to pay now, or after I do your dirty work?""
----Maybe you have to be a dick to take a life away, but making people feel guilty for taking care of and loving their animals is pathetic.

This vet is rude right off the bat. I'm a new client and not even a ""hello or an aknowledgement"" instead a ""put the dog on the table""... I've never been treated worst in my life and worst this was someone that I am PAYING to provide a service. The prices appear to be ""reasonable"" to a lot of reveiw writers here, but that is to justify treating people like trash.
You decide, if you want to pay less and get the worst service then go to him.
The ladies that work there are nice, sadly that can't compensate for this man's actions.

Dr. Haas may not be the most personalbe person, but he is an incredible Doctor. He picks up on diagnosises that many other vets would have to run tests on to confirm. He also doesn't run a bunch of tests that aren't needed that some vets might ""like"" to know"" the results of. His assessment technique is great and that's partly what tells you who are a great vets and those that are not. I have transferred the care of all my pets to him over the past 2 years and have been very satisfied.
He is my pets' advocate and stresses what I need to be doing to improve the health and life of my pets.....such as annual vaccinations.
His fees are also very reasonable. He makes it affordable to take my pets in for visits and check-ups. I would recommend him to anyone.

I feel this vet needs some Xanax - Bad attitude - Rude - Dropped cat off - Vet was rude stated I do not open before 9am - Told me I better have money to pick up cat - No money no cat - Put precious kitty in the kennel and kept her in the carrier - I recommend never taking your precious pets there for any reason

We were not able to see our vet due to his very busy schedule. So I took him to Dr. Phil (because I buy food at Pet Palace, and it was close to my home). My female dog has a lump near her groin. I was very concerned and quite worried. He took our 15 minute visit to argue with me about her tags and how she was not current. I told him that I just forgot to put her updated tags. He continued to argue. So I called our vet and gave him the dates of her shots. He still argued that the dates couldn't be right. My heart was bleeding for fear of a tumor and all he could do was belittle me. Needless to say, the tumor was a fat tumor - nothing to worry about. Maybe that is why he argued with me about shots? Then he tried to sell me other seasonal medicine. I assured him we would bring up this with out vet and paid the bill. Do you want a vet that is not only knowledgeable but kind-hearted and respectful? Go to Companion Animal Hospital in Littleton. Dr. Munger is absolutely the best vet. Next time, I will just wait for his schedule.

Dr. Haas has been taking care of the animals in my family for the last 10 or 12 years.
When my grandmother's dog went blind abruptly, he quickly assessed the situation, and immediately referred her to an excellent specialist. The dog had full sight back within a few months.
When the cat I adopted from the Aurora Animal shelter showed symptoms of giardia, he tested and treated him at no cost.
And when my other cat developed ataxia, he kept her overnight, ran a series of well thought out tests, and referred me to a specialist the next day.
He patiently answered all the questions I had, and provided his own insight.
Dr. Haas won't hesitate to tell you if you're doing something wrong in the care of your animal. Some people don't like that. But even when he hurts your feelings he has the animals best interests at heart.
He's absolutely adamant about annual vacinations. But if you've ever seen a dog that contracted parvo, or a cat that came down with FIV, you'd understand why.
There's no one I trust more to look after my animals.

I was not at all impressed with the Vet Clinic at Pet Palace. I took my newly adopted cat there for his initial exam (courtesy of the shelter). Upon arrival I was greeted by the receptionist/vet tech who had me complete a 1 page form. After a 30 min. wait, we were called in to see the vet. I greeted him and introduced myself, he said, ""put the cat on the table and hold him"". Ummm, ok. He looked over my cat's medical history that I brought with me from the shelter. He advised that my cat needed a rabies shot and that that he could give it to him. I advised him I already had plans for having the rabies shot given elsewhere. He asked where and I told him and he noted the chart. The vet then weighed my cat, looked in his ears, eyes and mouth and said, ""looks good"" and that was it. No skin check, no respiratory check, no heart check. I?m no vet, but I would think he would at least use his stethoscope to listen to his heart and lungs and do a more thorough exam. What kind of exam was that? A free one, that?s what. If there?s no money to be made I don?t think this guy cares at all.
I told him that my cat had sneezed the first few days we had him and that I was concerned about a URI. He dismissed this completely. I told him the shelter said my cat was overweight and that he (the vet) would probably recommend a special diet. He replied, ?Don?t buy cat food at the grocery store. Just buy premium food here or at another pet store.? I asked about my cat snoring or wheezing when he sleeps. He said the cat was probably snoring because it happens when they?re overweight. Dismiss, dismiss, dismiss. I handed him the vet book the shelter provided me and asked him to complete the physical exam form on the back page. He REFUSED! He said, ?I never fill those things out. You?ll get a print out of this visit.? Okay, the print out simply says, ?Free Shelter Exam?. That?s it. Nothing else. If you love your pets you?ll keep them away from this guy; he's terrible and doesn't care.
