I'm new to the area. So I nee...

I'm new to the area. So I needed to find "my Italian restaurant". I think we did. The atmosphere was casual, the price affordable. The server, the owner's daughter was a spitfire. My wife and I had a lot of fun.

This is all nice, of course, but the bottom line is the food. Normally I don't like heavy pasta, but I frequently get a "Jones" for lasagna. Their's was wonderful. The sausage spiced perfectly. My wife's dish was angel hair with white clam sauce. The sausce was a beautiful blend of garlic and white wine.

There are fancier restaurant's than Armando's, I'm sure. I'm also sure the price tag matches "the atmosphere". I bet the food is no better.

For great food in a relaxed atmosphere, Armando's is the place

Amando himself was drunk behind the bar

Amando himself was drunk behind the bar being loud and obnoxious. Had to ask to move to a different table so that I could hear my 10 and 13 years old talk. The food was very poor as well. My Veal Marsala was tasteless and water. My girlfriend Chicken Picata tasted like chicken broth. When I talked to the general manager about the experience he said that it was just Armoado and he will never change. Next thing I know is Armando, after having a couple of glasses of whiskey or scotch neat, was back in the kitchen. Sorry but if you want good Italian don't bother with Armando's. Take the extra time and go to Nona's on Monaco and Leetsdale.
