Once upon a time, in the land of eternal winter and construction (Milwaukee), I had a great mechanic. Over the past 3 years, I've been trying to find an equivalent in Denver. I've been to a few places, but I can finally say "I've got a guy for that". I took my 2004 Jeep Liberty in to Ken's Auto Service. About every 3 years, this thing needs something ridiculous. Like clockwork, November of 2016 gifted me the need for several repairs and 4 new tires. Bracing myself for a financial blow, I answered the phone and was shocked when the quote was about half what I expected. Ken's Auto gave me a car to use and completed work in a few days. When I picked up my Jeep, I was given a detailed list of work completed. Driving the Jeep home was so smooth and... *quiet*. Blissfully quiet. Two weeks later, something else went wrong. I was waiting for it. I knew it was coming. My car is a dick. "Oh. You think I'm fine now? Think I'm all better? Watch this." The serpentine belt fell off. On Thanksgiving. On the highway. And my car overheated. I had it towed to Ken's. They called as soon as they opened and found my key on the floor. They lent me a car again. Again I received a quote under what I expected, they repaired my Jeep, and it was wonderful. But wait. This 3-year-repair thing always involves 3 trips to the mechanic. When nothing happened in December, I thought the curse was broken. But then Wednesday, January 4th, it was 10 degrees out. I got in my car to go to work. No heat. Maybe it just needs to run a minute? "No. No heat for you. No heat for the next 4, below freezing days. Lol," said the Jeep, every time I turned it on. I brought it in again, they did repairs, some at no cost, and I have my Jeep back. I believe I'm done *knock on wood*. Ken's Auto has done remarkable work on my Jeep. Tony, the owner, runs a great shop with a wonderful, friendly, caring crew. If you want an honest, experienced, high quality mechanic with fair prices, definitely go to Ken's Auto.
Jerks. Actually everyone was vary nice except for an older heavy set guy with grey hair. I'm guessing he was the finance guy in charge of approving applications because after 4 days of waiting once my application was turned in I came in to see why nobody has contacted me when i was told a couple days. After taking quiet some time finding the application he said I had to add another family member to it and it never got processed. Well thanks for the call I'm thinking. Then I'm thinking this place is a mess and I would put much hope into expecting too much, but hey I guess it'll be a little bit easier not having to pay all at once. So I finished the app, offered to pay the deposit if they ordered everything, in which I saw the prices they pay on the computer screen, which is quiet a bit lower than they were charging me. But hey it's financed and over the time wouldn't be too horrible. They scheduled my install for the next day and I paid the deposit. Next day at my install time, parts have not been delivered so I had to wait yet again. I came back later in the day after yet again no one called. They have arrived and that's when the older heavy set guy with grey hair came and said an he had to verify with my landlords where I lived. I had wrote my mailing address on the form. So I wrote my physical address and crossed out my mailing. Apparently he didn't like that and refused my application and gave me my deposit back. Jerk. Went to a place on federal with tons of rims and tires in stock with no financing and got the same thing for almost $500 cheaper that afternoon. Definitely worth it, I was treated like they actually wanted my business instead of I'm lucky if I receive their services. Now have great new tires and rims. Just wish my time wasn't wasted so much.
We recently purchased tires and wheels for two new cars from this business. The wheels and snow tires had to be special ordered, and the sales staff were great to work with. When the new wheels and tires arrived, we had them mounted on the first car in the morning. This went wonderfully; the old set of wheels with snow tires were put into clean bags, and loaded into the back of the car laying flat. When the second car was done that evening, however, the old set of wheels with snow tires were put into the car—un-bagged—with two of them standing upright (on the tread pattern of the tire). Because they were not placed in bags, they got the back of the brand new car dirty and greasy. Additionally, the hatch door of the car was apparently shut against one of the tires that had been haphazardly placed in the back, so that the tread of the tire scratched the window tint on the inside of the back hatch door window. Finally, the adaptor socket for the tuner lug nuts was not left in the car as we were verbally assured it was. I returned to the store the next day to retrieve it and spoke briefly with a sales associate about the service issues we experienced the night before. I did receive a follow up call from my sales representative and reported the unacceptable post installation issues. He said he would call me back. That was a month ago.
I found Gary's full service by chance off of the better buisness bureau's website for their rating of A+. Recently having moved across the country from Pittsburgh to Denver with my 150,000+ mile 2003 Trailblazer I found my self in need of a mechanic. After I arrived my car was still running but the ABS light was on and the check engine light was intermittantly flashing. I took the car to two other mechanic that told me the ABS computer was out and would cost $1000 dollars just to replace. I hesitated to do the work. Unexpectedly the car developed another problem and overheated. I had to make a decision fast. I had the car towed to Gary's. Not only was the very fare with his prices, fast with his service, honest he CORRECTLY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND SAVED ME NEARLY $1000 dollars. I will never go anywhere else and recommend him to everyone I meet. He is everything you look for in a mechanic, no wonder he is still in buisness after 25 years! Go here I promise you will be happy!
I was an auto mechanic for a couple years out of high school so I have been able to do most of my repairs’. I started using Fenimore several years ago when I couldn’t figure out a problem with my Nissan. They found it right away and ordered the parts and I got the car back in a few days. I’m able to fix my Cherokee myself except for AC work. They replaced a front compressor bearing for about half of what I expected. They replaced an engine in our Subaru at a competitive price and without a problem. They have done work on my son’s car which has been right on. On one repair my son decided to not have fixed they didn’t even charge for diagnostics. As age is catching up to me I’ll be having them do more of my Jeep work. They have always been easy to work with.
I started going here in 2006 and over the years the management has changed along with the ownership but as of last year it seems they have actually got some guys in there that work, i had my 2009 toyota camry in there in the end of decamber and my car hit a curb so i needed a control arm and a new axle. toyota wanted 1000$ for that! i said no way and had it towed over to econolube and right away the asst. manager came out and took my info and five min. later i had a price and i was happy. they did the job for half of what the dealer wanted, mike is the manager now and justin is the shop foreman, they both showed me the work that was done and the old parts so i felt a little better about forking over all of that cash, i would recommend them again.
The first 2 times I went I was very happy. Although the office seems to be confused, I thought the mechanic was good. I went Monday to have a headlamp bulb put in and they didn't have the bulb. They called for the parts store to bring it. I waited 45 min! Then they charged me labor of 50 something dollars!!! The mechanic worked on my car for maybe 15 minutes! Who charges that much labor for a light bulb change, a back windshield wiper and 2 light bulbs over the license plate???? He didn't even get his hands dirty! I just had them do 1600.00 worth of work on my car! Now I don't know if I will go back again. Very disappointed. **Update** After yet another defensive email from Lori, I will not be going back. Very unprofessional!!
Tork did an exceptional job diagnosing what was going wrong with my 1999 Toyota Camry. Bora, the head mechanic, called me after dropping my car off and had itemized exactly what needed to be fixed with an explanation and how much it would cost before doing anything and had it ready to pick up at 2PM. He also provided a list of foreseeable fixes that would need to eventually be done but were not necessary this trip. Much better experience than going to a big automotive garage. Bora was honest, fair, and friendly. He even remembered my name! This will definitely be my go to garage now and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get their car fixed right the first time and for a fair price.
I live in Denver and I recently bought a 65 mustang. I found them on line and was disappointed with their website. I went to check out the store anyways and they had most the parts I was looking for in stock, (fenders, a hood, front valance, and front bumper) The prices were ok, but since I didn't have to pay shipping on the big freight items, it turned out to be a good deal. Plus I got to look over the parts before I bought them, and Mike the sales man had a lot of good advice. I would recommend Colorado Mustang to anyone who is working on a Mustang in the Denver Metro area.
