bought my wedding dress for my wedding in late May in November, and asked if she could add lace 3/4 sleeves. She said that would not be a problem. April rolls around and she hasnt contacted me at all. I called her once a week, asking about my dress--only for her to tell me to call again next week, or that she would call me back (she never did). Forward to May--I finally got to talk to her without her telling me to call back and SHE DID NOT HAVE THE LACE YET. She did not get in the lace UNTIL A WEEK BEFORE MY WEDDING because she ordered it so late. When she finally added on the lace after she got it (4 days before my wedding), I went in for a fitting--there were two new small stains on my dress. She told me she would steam it and it would be available to be picked up any time the next day. The next day rolls around, 3 days before my wedding, and I get to the store--it's not ready. I had to wait for an hour in her store while her husband got it ready
I was down on Broad Street a couple of months back on a Saturday night so the shop wasn't open but when I walked by I fell in love with the dress on the right side of the window display!! I stood there for I know at least 5 minutes admiring the dress. It was gorgeous! I told my friends that When I get married, that's the dress I want to do so in. I took a picture of it through the glass& all! Before we got ready to leave I even walked back to the front of the store to look at it one more time. I somehow no longer have the pictures of this dress but I'm seriously thinking about going to buy the dress if it's available!!
My fiancé and I was looking for a non-traditional wedding dress. He had googled some places and our first stop was Sho-Ane's. Let me just say it was our only stop. All I had to do was tell her what I was looking for and bam... I had the most perfect dress for me. She is so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I left feeling like if I had gone any where else, I would've been cheating myself. If you shop at Sho-Ane's, you won't be disappointed.
After having previously tried on wedding dresses and receiving excellent service elsewhere, my stop at Elegant Bridals was the first horrible experience I had. Upon arrival, you are asked your bra size in order to wear obviously worn undergarments while trying on their wedding dresses. Additionally, their manager answered any questions I asked in an abrasive and rude manner. I do not recommend this bridal shop. You should be treated like a princess while you are trying on your wedding dresses, not as if you are inconveniencing the staff throughout the process.
When I first went to the shop in September 2013 I had an amazing consultant who dedicated all of her time and effort solely to me. I found a beautiful dress and I was very happy with the business. Fast forward to February 2014 and I have a Saturday appointment. I specifically set up this appointment after a hair trial, so I could see my hair style AND my dress to shop for a veil that would work. The shop was very busy and the lady at the desk somehow managed to acknowledge 2 people that arrived after me (and were standing behind me) before me.After I told her I came for my first fitting and to shop for veils she came back with the dress ready to go. I said I wanted a fitting, not to take it home. She was the one who occasionally helped me, while running to the counter and back. I didn't have a consultant specifically for me, despite the fact that I made an appointment weeks prior. When I asked to try on the sample dress (for confirmation of the size, since mine fit differently) she sighed and said, "Uhh right now?"Really? When else???She came back with the dress and tried it on me. When she went to take it off, she also started unbuttoning the store-provided bustier in an effort to get in me into my own clothes and out of the door as soon as possible. She tossed me a slip to cover myself while she pretty much stripped me. She quickly flung the door open and left while I tried to hide my nearly naked self. I got into my own clothes and left. Before I walked out of the door she asked, "Are you okay?"I wanted to respond "What do you think???"I found out later the rude woman was the owner. My consultant, Stephanie Ostot is INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend making your appointments with her and making sure your appointment is ONLY with her. When I made my appointment I requested her and they told me they would let her know. Come to find out that she was double booked and didn't even know that I had requested an appointment with her.
My consultant was awesome. She helped me find my dream dress. All the staff was wonderful. The shop is clean and beautiful and there were plenty of gowns to choose from for all budgets!
I loved my whole experience shopping for "the" dress! The best part about Sho-Ane's is that they listen to what you want but also let you try on a dress from each style so you can see what you really love.
This place is really nice. I went in to get a wedding gown under $1500 in a size 6, they had a huge selection of second hand dresses in amazing condition which was perfect for me. They also had samples of designers to order in case you can't find a proper dress you like. Thank god they had a ton of styles, and a wonderful lady (I don't remember the name) was amazing she found the dream wedding dress for me. Thank you.
I went to Elegant Bridal the day after I became engaged based on a glowing referral of the shop and the consultant Tracey. I went just to take a peak at the shop but Tracey was up front, available and asked me if I wanted to try on somegowns. She sat down with my mother and myself to get an idea of what I wanted. After the consultation we were taken to a large changing room big enough to fit a number of people. Tracy brought the dresses to me instead if leaving me to drown in a sea of organza. Needless to say I found my dress that day by the second one that I tried. A dress that I might add I would have never thought to try if not for Tracey. Yes, I did try looking at other boutiques but the service was nothing in comparison. I would be left alone to figure out what I wanted to try on. Not only that, the consultant that was suppose to be there for me would be splitting her attention amongst numerous other brides. I was not important!!Thanks to Elegant Bridal and Tracey for making me feel special and making the choosing of my dress memorable!!!
I experienced an exceptional business transaction with the small business owner Mrs. Sho Ane. In the past in 2009 I have purchase a wedding gown from her in hopes of being married to a wonderful man. Things didn't work out the way I thought it would so instead I have to exchange the wedding gown in for store credit. In the process Mrs. Sho Ane was very understanding and work closely with me to make sure I was highly satisfied with her business. I want to extend my appreciation to Mrs. Sho Ane letting her know how much she was really appreciated in this matter. In the future I plan on doing business with her and letting all my associates know how well she works her business with others making sure all needs are meet. Nonetheless being a small business does have its advantages sometimes, and I'm grateful I choose Sho Ane's Design Studio Bridal and Formals. Sho Ane thanks for being a wonderful an understanding owner. Ms. Angela M. Caldwell
