My visit to JobShop was amazing. The staff really demonstrate how concern they are in meeting the needs of potential employee's as well as the needs for the companies they serve. My goal today was to go in an get a job Today.... Well I did not come out with a job, but I came out feeling empowered and ready to stay my new job search. This is all because of a worker who took me in her office and carefully looked over my resume and saw that industrial is not where I needed to go. She provided me with information that will help me on my employment search. Thanks so much to JobShop for hiring such a great staff.....
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR STEADY WORK. ROB IS A JOKE HE COMES UP WITH THE MOST IDIOTIC EXCUSES AS TO WHY YOU CANNOT RETURN TO A JOBS IT AFTER BUSTING YOUR BUTT THE DAY BEFORE.WHEN NEW MEAT ARRIVES AT HIS LOCATION FOR WORK HE IS TOTALLY NOT LOYAL TO PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN WITH HIM FOR MONTHS. AS I SAID DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, GO TO TROJAN STAFFING
I had the most hilariously ridiculous experience with Peak today. Please allow me to tell you all about it:Ashley Williams, Director of Operations at Peak Employment, was so condescending and egregiously unprofessional. First, during my "interview" she asked me what my current college major was, and when I responded (Computer Science) she said, "good luck with that in Augusta" very sarcastically. Odd, I know. There are plenty of CS/IT jobs available that I'm not yet qualified for and many more to come with the Fort Gordon expansion. It gets worse...Things started to get really weird when she locked in on my most recent employer. She was asking oddly specific questions. She also found it completely unfathomable that I voluntarily left a job where my bosses were stealing 20+ hours a week and having inappropriate relations with each other. She implied that they were paying me enough to deal with it, and that I was wrong for leaving, because and I quote, "it didn't affect me." Really? It didn't affect me? This is coming from someone who supposedly preaches integrity and respect. She also implied that I was lying about the situation (I wasn't; this is Augusta, people). So this is when I started to get suspicious that something else was going on here. She couldn't really be this dense right?Next, she accused me of not actively looking for work (while I'm in her office specifically looking for work), and aggressively demanded that I name the last five places I applied to off the top of my head (it's not like I'm collecting unemployment). She also mocked me for looking for jobs on craigslist, even though I found my last two jobs on craigslist. It's hard to describe the vibe of the "interview" adequately here, but it really felt like I had just walked in to a trap. Luckily, she abruptly ended the "interview," I mean interrogation, and I was free to go. I drove home in a daze. What had just happened? Why was she so rude to me? I had gone in with high hopes, but I was met with hostility. When I got home I took to the internet! And guess what? Turns out she's friends with my most recent employer! Haha! She knew who I was the second I handed over my resume. She had no intention of helping me find a job at all. So not only is she completely unaware of the growing CS/IT market in her own city, but she is incapable of professionalism! Just another cog in the wheel of corrupt failing businesses of Augusta, GA. -5 stars. That means negative. Also, the hyperlinks at the bottom of their website don't even work (looks like they could use a programmer), and all of these generic 5 star reviews are obviously fake. Avoid.LOL!
This is the worst place to work for. If you get injured while working at any of the places they place you at, and get put on light duty they treat you like dirt. Once you get released to go back to work they make sure they have nothing for you and lay you off. They tell you to call in weekly but they never have anything for you. I would advise anyone that is looking for employment to go anywhere but here. They suck!
I originally called a job listing in North Augusta Today for a food service related position making $12-$15 an hour. I foolishly went to the address they gave me thinking it was the actual job site after being told on the phone that "we can definitely get you started today." (Sounded too good to be true) In hindsight, I am going to agree with the others and say this did not seem worth the $190 for job hunting you could just as easily do on your own without paying that kind of money. Another mistake made and another lesson learned though. 1 star being that the job listings are a good resource and the staff is very nice, but located on Pleasant Home Road, they seem way too pleasant for all the wrong reasons.
