Agreed, the Voodoo Museum is tiny and silly. But the reason to go is Carol, the proprietor. She's a crack-up, and when I was looking for just the right voodoo doll, she said "I'll give you something better," and proceeded to look through the Farmers Almanac and write out a whole calendar for me on the best days for success -- kind of like a reading, only free! She seriously did this just to be nice. Plus, someone called while I was waiting and she gave them free advice on how to perform some sort of ritual. Of course it is probably all hogwash, but the vibe in this place does feel like authentic Nola when you dig a little deeper and get to know the locals. Plus, I had no idea there is really such a thing as a "zombie," technically speaking, until I visited here. Who knew? For $5, it's a fun little distraction on your way through the quarter.

Totally great place to spend the day.Excellently done! So historical!! So many pictures, stories.....I learned so much I never knew about that war. Very sobering as well......God bless America and all the men & women who served in our armed forces. Thank you for your sacrifice!!!!!!!!
Museum has potential but they overcharge for everything (Veterans should not be charged so much for the same things we fought to protect).
you have got to go there it is so amazing I didn't want to leave
