I've never owned another car but Honda and currently own my second one. My family also owns nothing but Hondas, so I may be partial but it is with good reason. Hondas are great reliable cars and if you take care of them they'll take care of you. However, for me that's only one part of the equation, the service and customer service is the other reason I keep coming back. I recently moved into the area and after a cross country drive my car need some regular maintenance, so I looked around at reviews online of the local dealerships. I usually take online reviews with a grain of salt, but given my always great experience I was concerned with the vast majority of negatives reviews that several other local (and closer to me) dealerships had. The only place that had really good reviews was Hinshaw's, and now I understand why. I drove in with no appointment and asked if they could do some regular tune up work, they were busy but not swamped. I had the pleasure of working with John M. I knew I needed an oil change but wasn't sure what I else I needed/wanted to have done today, but John asked a couple questions about when the last time I serviced the car ect. and was very upfront with the costs and whether he thought it might be a good idea. I ended up getting the oil changed, and the tires aligned and rotated. He told me originally it would be about an hour and a half for everything, which is about what I was expecting, 45 minutes later the car was sitting out front and I was on my way home. The dealership is a little farther away than some other dealerships but the service was impeccable and I won't take my car anywhere else. Also if you get a chance swing by the sales department and see Donovan. While I was waiting I struck up a conversation with him and got shown around the newest models, but never once got a "salesman pitch". If I'm looking to buy another Honda, he'll be my first stop.
I would not recommend bringing your car to Doxon Toyota for service after they defrauded me with an unnecessary $700 repair when I brought mine in because the VVT-i system (Variable Valve Timing - Intelligent) was malfunctioning and thowing a code P1349 (VVT-i Controller not responding). This involves several parts besides the VVT-i Controller, including a selenoid, valve (the Oil Control Valve), OCV filter, oil supply from the pump, computer (g-d forbid it being that!) and associated wiring. They immediately declared the VVT-i controller to be at fault, the most expensive part (except the computer) as well as the most expensive in labor, resulting in a $700+ repair bill w/o even testing the other components even though I specifically asked them to test the rest first. The service adviser even admitted that it is not uncommon for the Oil Control Valve to stick resulting in the same behavior. I got the car back and it was doing the same thing. I will be returning next week, after diagnosing the real issue myself to see if they can fix it, and trying to get my money back for the fraudulent repair. Well, to make a long story short, I fixed the car by simply cleaning the Oil Control Valve and bringing it back to Doxon a couple times to show them (1) that I continued getting 1349 failures after their repair but before my cleaning (2) that it was running perfectly and getting no more failures after the OCV was cleaned. They refunded me the repair 100% and are going to review cleaning the OCV before VVT-i controller replacement with the service staff (not a Toyota approved procedure, but it might cost them less in the long run in terms of lost customers). So re-rating them as a 3 since they followed through, but I would be cautious non-the-less.
Excellent! I live in Lacey, WA and was searching for a 2015 Kia Sedona SXL. I was contacted by various sales representatives from different dealerships that were closer to my house. When Mr. Guy Brown (Auburn Kia Valley) contacted me I noticed his sincerity and honesty in finding me the van that I wanted. Mr. Guy Brown promised me a great deal and he delivered on his promise. I purchased a 2015 Kia Sedona SXL from Mr. Guy Brown and it was the best car buying experience I have had in my 40 years of purchasing automobiles. Although I by-passed a number of Kia dealerships located between Lacey and Auburn, dealing with Mr. Guy Brown was well worth it. Thanks again to Mr. Guy Brown and all the sales representatives for your outstanding service in meeting (and exceeding) the standards of true customer service. My wife and I were very satisfied with your service and will recommend you to our friends. The only recommendation that I have is "DON'T CHANGE" and "KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING". Thanks again.
You don't have to be afraid of car salespeople anymore! Becki Waskey really listened to what my family needed and we bought the best car in our price range for our needs. We liked it so much, we bought a second car with her a few weeks later - and I'm looking forward to when my next car purchase can be made, which I used to dread! Thanks to Daniel in finance who answered all my crazy questions (I'm an accountant, and it's really tough to deal with me in financing on anything I'm sure) and was very quick and knew his stuff! I could tell the people who work at Hinshaws really care about your whole experience - after all, every time you get into your car for a while you remember that purchase and it's nice to have a great experience instead of a lousy one. I will buy here again.
I bought a headlight at an auto parts store to replace my drivers side headlight. But it was too difficult to change out because the car battery and a couple other parts were in the way. I was driving by Hinshaws Honda and decided to stop by the service department to see if they would be able to change it for me. I didn't care what it cost because I needed to have my light changed. When I walked into the service department, I was greeted by Mike. I told him what I needed and he said that he would take a look at it and that he would change it for me himself. He had it changed in no time and he didn't even charge me!! A big thank you to Mike and his great customer service!! I truly appreciate it!
I had my dashboard light up with multiple warning lights, after calling the service department and talking to Mike, he was able to get me in immediately. They ran the diagnostics and thankfully it was just my speedometer that had gone out and not my transmission going, as I had originally thought. Not being able to have it fixed right then, Mike was not pushy and able to work with me to do it when it was convenient for ME. I truly appreciated the attention and personal service they gave to me and my 20 year old Honda! I'll be taking my car back in there this week to have them fix the speedometer and look forward to dealing with them in the future!!
I am at a loss. I saw three extremely negative reviews that referenced Hinshaw's Motorcycle Store. Although they were owned by the same owner' my experience with the Indian Store is all positive. Spike, Craig, Ashley and Mike in the shop have done everything in their power to make my Indian experience great! From purchase to service, they are number one in my book. I cannot address any problems that have been experienced by Hinshaw customers but can say that because of Auburn Indian I purchased and ride an Indian Vintage. This is after severn new Harleys. The best way to find out is to go and see for yourself.
I wanted to have my car serviced in South Tacoma Honda and called to make an appointment. What upset me was when I got there they could not find our appointment information and they told me we had to reschedule and wait for 1 hour to have it checked. Then I called Hinshaws Honda. The advisor Bob was so gentle and nice and asked us to come to them next day. The Experience in Hinshaws was really good. The advisor, John's service was professional and rapid. It took only 15 minutes to have my car checked. We felt really good and decided to go to Hinshaws for services from then on instead of South Tacoma.
My husband and I came in today with the intent to look only. Joe was our Salesman and he was very helpful and friendly. After test driving a couple cars that my husband liked, he let Joe know which one he was interested in and Joe went right to work trying to make things work out financially for us. We let him know that our payments could not be over a certain amount and Joe went out of his way to accommodate us. Today we are leaving with a brand new car thanks to the persistence of our Salesman. I would definitely tell people that I know to come here for good quality and service. Thank you!
When I was having issues with my previous vehicle, I went to Hinshaw's and worked with Becki who helped my wife and I a week before find a car for my mother-in-law. The experience was painless and Becki was extremely helpful and knowledgeable (even though she did not know what the "W" button was for on the Volvo). This time around she gave me an amazing deal on a Pontiac. The car did have some minor issues but Becki and Monty made sure to take care of those issues for me without any hassle. I highly recommend Hinshaw's for a smooth and stress free car buying experience! ~ Jon
