We purchased a home in Centralia, and as a part of that we purchased two beds (a king and a queen) from JC Penney. Unfortunately, because of repairs that the house needed before we moved in, we didn't have a good date for delivery. We estimated August 15. Penney's told us that all we had to do was call MXD when we had a move-in date and they would deliver the beds. We called MXD the morning of the 11th and got voice mail. The message said they would call right back. They didn't. So on Monday the 14th we called again. Voice mail, same message, no return call. My in-laws were due to arrive on the 17th. On Tuesday, after a couple of calls, they returned our call. Sorry, can't deliver until the 29th!!!!! My wife has been sleeping on the floor since the 11th. We pleaded - company coming and we can't cancel that; my wife's sleeping on the floor. PLEASE deliver the beds by Thursday!!!! Nope. No can do. We only deliver there on certain days. You have to wait until the 29th. I went to Penneys and asked if they could do anything. I spoke to the department manager who called and asked for expedited delivery. Nope. Won't be until the 29th. We even went through Penney's corporate. Nope. Talk about inflexible!!!!!! My wife had to go to another furniture store to buy one bed so my in-laws have a place to sleep, and then cancel the order for one of the beds. We won't get our money back for at least two weeks. The bed she purchased was inferior to the one we ordered from Penney's because we had a smoking deal, and the new bed was regular price.
